This won't be out until Nov. but it looks pretty good if they stick to historical accuracy. Roland Emmerich, the director/producer has a tendency to go overboard on 'spectacle' which is okay with his Independence Day I and II productions, since they are fictional, but it can get out of hand in historical productions.
Oh-oh, I just noticed an inaccuracy in the markings of the SBD Douglas Dauntless's diving on the Japanese carriers , who were responsible for the fatal damage inflicted on them. The TBD Devastator torpedo bombers were worthless and were never used again in combat.
Anyway....the Dauntless national markings shown in the preview weren't used until April '42, at that time all U.S. aircraft removed the red 'meat ball' in the middle of the white star in order to not be confused with the Japanese markings. They are going to catch 'heck' for that boo-boo. No excuse.....
No, no wait a minute...Midway occurred in June '42, so the markings are correct.....my bad....

This is as detailed of a historical record that I have ever seen ! Kudos !
