Big Brother 23 Week 7:
HoH: Sarah Beth
Nominated: Claire & Derek F
High Rollers power: Alyssa won Roulette, DF saved, Xavier renom’d
Power of Veto: …
Veto Ceremony: …
Evicted: …

Wow ! I think that was unexpected. Now with Xavier on the block will the thinking change from booting Claire, a less dangerous HG going forward, or taking the opportunity to boot Xavier who poses a greater threat overall. scratch Of course the winner of POV could throw a wrench into all this...  scratch

Good to see Alyssa 'making waves'..... two thumbs up

A complex scenario, today's POV will clear things up.

The Power of Veto Competition is set to take place inside the Big Brother 23 house on Saturday. Sarah Beth picked her nominations for the week and then the High Roller’s Room twist on Big Brother 2021 switched them up. Now we know who is playing in this week’s Veto and what we could see happen depending on who wins this week on Big Brother!

Sarah Beth put Derek F and Claire on the block this week, but after Alyssa won the roulette power on Big Brother, she took Derek F off the block and the roulette wheel put Xavier up in his place. Sarah Beth was not happy that this happened, however, Sarah Beth and Alyssa had a feeling something like this would happen. This is why they decided last second to take Derek F off the block instead of Claire. They felt that Xavier and Kyland would have a better chance against Claire than they would Derek F.

Sarah Beth, Claire, and Xavier are going to be joined by Alyssa, Derek F, and Azah so not the best-case scenario for Derek X going into this week’s competition. If Sarah Beth or Xavier wins the POV, chances are Xavier will be taken off the block and Derek X will be put up in his place at Monday’s Veto Ceremony. If Claire wins and comes off the block, Derek X will likely still be nominated in her place. With the Cookout controlling the vote in both of these situations, Derek X will probably become the second member of the Big Brother 23 Jury.

Unfortunately for Derek X, with Alyssa playing, if she wins she will take down Xavier. If Derek F wins the POV, he might not use it in fear that Azah would be the renom choice. Azah could possibly use it on Xavier if she wins, but she might not want to do any favors to SB and Kyland after Britini’s eviction last week and Derek F’s nominations two weeks in a row. Azah or DF winning is going to be DX’s best chance at staying inside the Big Brother house this week.

Hmmm......this seems cut and dried, Derek X is a big threat so it may come to pass.... scratch

Xavier won the Power of Veto

HGs discussed this was the domino set up comp where you had to select spots to route through. Punishments and prizes were also involved. Sounds like the HGs had a chance at winning more BB Bucks (gotta make sure production gets the action they need on that). DF won $7,500 (seems there was $10K available too).

It wasn’t all fun and rewards though. Xavier seems to have also earned himself a future nomination next week as a 3rd nom unless he wins HOH (and then he’ll be the 3rd nom the following week instead). Oh, X also lost all his BB Bucks. And wait, Xavier also has solitary isolation punishment? Wow, that was quite a tradeoff for X to win a Veto he didn’t need, but I guess anytime you’re on the Block you need the Veto.

Xavier is definitely taking himself off the Block. And when he does, DX will be named as the renom and will be targeted by the Cookout for eviction on Thursday.
This week is pretty set and done, but of course, nothing is final until Julie announces it. Can DX pull off an upset against Claire?

Nothing has changed...... wave

Sunday on the Big Brother live feeds, Sarah Beth had a conversation with Derek X. She told him that it would be one thing if he was just better at comps than her, but he also has better connections. She talked about how Hannah, Tiffany, and Claire are all more loyal to him than they are to her. She also knows that Azah is gunning for Kyland which means she would also be more loyal to him than SB.

She tells him how she is worried about going on the block with the Coin of Destiny too and she is very limited with the number of people she can send out that would make her feel safer.

DX asked if there were any things that he has done in the house that had given her any trust and she tells him that going after Christian like he said he would. However, if Christian won the Veto that week and took himself off the block, she isn’t convinced he would have kept her. He reminds her about the $5,000 that he allowed her to keep and she told him that she is factoring it in and that proved that he isn’t a cold and callous person. She adds that’s why him going up isn’t 100% guaranteed.

Regardless of him bringing up all these points, she still plans to put him up on the block after Xavier pulls himself off at the Veto Ceremony. She didn’t outright tell DX that he is her target but did tell him that no matter who is on the block next to Claire, she would prefer that Claire stayed this week. Which will be kind of the same thing…right?

Do you think that Sarah Beth is making the right move for her game? Be on the lookout for Veto Ceremony spoilers coming up later today!

Big Brother 23 Week 7:
HoH: Sarah Beth
HN: Derek X & Kyland
Nominated: Claire & Derek F
High Rollers power: Alyssa won Roulette, DF saved, Xavier renom’d
Power of Veto: Xavier
Veto Ceremony: Xavier saved, Derek X renom’d
Evicted: …

The final Noms are set for Week 7 of Big Brother 23 and there’s yet another Backdoor in the works here but nothing is official until Julie reads off the count. So does this week’s target have a shot at redemption and another week in the house? Ehh, let’s take a look.

So Derek X’s biggest advantage here, unlike Britini last week or Whitney in Week 4, is that he is not up against a Cookout member. Xavier came down at the Veto meeting and DX took his spot next to Claire. If someone else had saved Claire and this was a DX vs X scenario then it’d be open and shut at that moment, but it’s not so it isn’t.

Okay, I’ll be upfront, I do not see DX surviving this vote, so don’t get your hopes up, but his chances are better than they could be. He’s likable and competitive with no shortage of allies, but the allies in power have a great alliance with the Cookout and that won’t be overturned for the sake of keeping DX. At best, he could be vying for an extra week or two here, but the risk of keeping DX who has been more a great competitor makes him the better choice to evict, per the Cookout’s needs.

Flashback on your Live Feeds to last night, 8/24 @ 2AM BBT Cams 1/2, as Hannah pitches the idea to Kyland that they make it a 3-4 vote with Azah joining them to keep DX. Hannah’s idea here is that in the case of a Jury Battleback they’ll be covered. I don’t get that argument particularly since you can talk those votes away later if needed and why do they need the third vote with Azah anyway. Kyland says it’s too risky to be that close and 2 votes is as much as they should risk. Yep. Hannah also notes that she thinks Azah is struggling to want to VTE DX.

As a refresher, our voters this week will be Alyssa, Azah, DF, Hannah, Kyland, Tiffany, and Xavier. In a non-Cookout world, I’d say DX would have a shot at this. Alyssa wants her revenge for Christian’s BD, Azah seems to have a good connection with DX and she sees his value, DF is so nebulous and who knows, Hannah would obviously prefer DX over Claire, Tiffany’s +1 is Claire but if she were playing this game non-Cookout I could see her keeping DX, and Xavier would probably always side with Alyssa. BUT, none of that matters, Cookout is king.

What DX needs to do is make inroads on the short-term boost benefits for others to keep him over Claire. He doesn’t know the Cookout exists and Claire seems to only suspect it. He might have two votes with Hannah and Azah plus maybe a third with Tiffany if she’d be willing to give up her +1 now versus later but that’s still not enough. If DX got Azah he could get DF, in theory. DX won’t get Alyssa or Xavier though and Kyland won’t go against Sarah. That last one would require Sarah to change her mind and then maybe Kyland would consider it, but… ehh, nah.

Cookout had a lot of luck with DX not playing the Roulette and then not getting to play for Veto. Next week he’d have enough points for the Coin o’ Destiny along with a shot at HOH and another chance at playing/winning Veto. That’s just way too risky compared to keeping Claire. It doesn’t make sense for the Six to take that risk instead of the sure thing now. Nope.

The path is narrow and although it’s feasible I just don’t see it likely. I do hope DX keeps fighting though and plays like Christian did by campaigning up to the very end. You’ll likely never have another chance so max it out and fight for your game!

What do you think? Does Derek X stand a chance this week or is he done and set to head to Jury as #2? Share your thoughts and strategies you would want DX to use for his best chance to stay.

No reason to think that Derek X won't be booted tonight.

Tonight on Big Brother 23 (8/7c) we’re back for the next eviction after Sarah’s final nominations of Derek X and Claire ride out the vote and wait for the house’s decision. After that the remaining Houseguests, minus the outgoing HOH, will head into the next comp for a new Head of Household. Let’s find out who gets voted out!

Derek X has been working hard to secure safety but he doesn’t have a shot here. Hannah has been hoping for a 4-3 vote even though that’s still with DX going, but it’s more likely going to be 5-2 or even 6-1. Any way they cut the votes it’ll still be DX becoming the second Juror of BB23.

The Houseguests have been studying video clips for what we anticipate to be a memory HOH competition. Hannah has said she will clean up in a memory comp but as long as we don’t get a third straight week of Kyland in charge I don’t even care at this point who else gets it!
