Re: Caprica
It is a problem that Caprica isn't nearly as good as Battlestar...it's a huge problem. Battlestar had me on my seat for a lot of episodes, not so for Caprica. Battlestar had brilliantly layered and complex writing..Caprica doesn't measure up there either. Complex usually isn't a problem. It's a mistake to undervalue the intelligence of the audience.
It's got potential. So, I'm sticking around.
most of the above is opinion, hastily put on the page...no offense intended naturally .

No offense taken of course but my opinion of BG vs. Caprica is exactly the opposite.

Re: Caprica
And here I am...Switzerland: I like both series a lot. I think they are 2 different kinds of Sci-fi. Battlestar was all action and shoot 'em up with some great characters to care about. Caprica seems to have serious themes that they want you to consider. Naturally that moves at a slower pace but can be just as compelling viewing. Not liking the big Ka-Boom at the end of last week's show. But if I have learned one thing as a James Marsters fangirl, it's that if you haven't seen the body, you don't need to panic.

Yep, nothing like having 2 teenagers to put thru college to ramp up your work ethic. Since that means lotsa James on tv, I'm not complaining.

Sometimes you wonder if life is worth living... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] The new project seems like "BSG lite". Will it be any more successful ?

Syfy Cancels ‘Caprica’ Days After Ordering New ‘BSG’ Prequel
by [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

It was a case of bad news/worse news for ‘[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]‘ fans when Syfy revealed that not only would the series not be picked up for a second season, but Season 1 is being taken off the air effective immediately.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]“The remaining first-run episodes of ‘Caprica’ – airing Tuesdays at 10/9c – will be removed from the schedule as of next Tuesday, November 2,” the network said in a press release issued Wednesday. “These final five episodes of the season will be rescheduled to air at a to-be-announced time in the first quarter of 2011, and will conclude the run of the series.”
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]In announcing the Capricancellation, Syfy’s EVP of original programming, Mark Stern, acknowledged “all the support that fans have shown for ‘Caprica,’ and are very proud of the producers, cast, writers and the rest of the amazing team that has been committed to this fine series. Unfortunately, despite its obvious quality, ‘Caprica’ has not been able to build the audience necessary” – less than 900,000 total viewers – “to justify a second season.”This news comes on the heels of Syfy ordering a pilot for another ‘Battlestar’ prequel series. Titled ‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome,’ the new project is set in the 10th year of the first Cylon war and would follow 20something Ensign William Adama as he accepts his first assignment out of the Academy

Re: Caprica
Sure, it will be more successful. It will be a shoot 'em up adventure show...as opposed to a "thinking man's" show.

Re: Caprica
As long as Syfy goes thru with plans to air "Three Inches"...I will be content.
But I feel bad for Magda Apanowitz and Sasha Roiz who I think just fit their parts so wonderfully. I hope we will see both of them again soon.

I never want to see that Clarice Willow women or the wimpy Mrs. Graystone again. Other than them, I liked all the casting.

Re: Caprica
Happy New Year. Don't forget that Tuesday will be a Caprica Marathon from 6-11pm. They are rerunning the last few shows and burning off the last of the unaired ones.
Then it's Bye Bye for good....frak.

Re: Caprica
Tonight is the Caprica marathon. It starts at 6 pm Eastern and all 5 new episodes will be shown.
I'm looking forward to it. I liked Caprica. I just wish we had much more of Barnabas.

Re: Caprica
I saw the 5 in the sched., the first one starts here at 4 pm, but I thought the new ones started at 6pm, so I set the DVR for then, because I won't be home. But will change that to 4 pm. Thanks for the heads up Berry !..
Of course when I tried to program the DVR last night it was kaput, so I had to run down to Comcast this morning and swap it out.....it's always something....

Re: Caprica
I watched the first two tonight. I may be crazy but I think this show was getting better and better. Couldn't complain about "no action" or "slow moving" with these eppies.
