Posted by Lena Lamoray on June 9, 2010
With New Directions’ journey to Sectionals now complete, are you mourning the end of GLEE’s first season? Now you can be a GLEEk all summer by catching encore episodes every Thursday (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) beginning tomorrow, June 10, on FOX and by visiting the all-new GLEE Superfan online experience exclusively at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The new Superfan experience allows GLEEks to watch full-length episodes while concurrently monitoring the live GLEE Twitter feed, exploring the official Facebook page, playing interactive GLEE games and sharing video with fellow fans. At their fingertips, visitors have easy access to insider content relevant to the GLEE scenes they are watching, including links to download and purchase music. The Superfan experience also offers fans the opportunity to watch their favorite musical numbers, view behind-the-scenes videos with the cast and crew and catch up on what happened in the episodes through “Glee-winds.”
GLEE has become a bona fide cultural phenomenon and the highest-rated new scripted series of the season among key demos. The series is also the most award-winning show on television – honored with a Peabody Award; a Golden Globe for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical; and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. The music has become an international sensation with the soundtracks topping the charts all over the world – from Australia and the U.K. to New Zealand, Ireland and Canada. In the U.S., over 7 million songs have already been downloaded and two albums have been certified Gold. “The Power of Madonna” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, and the most recent “Showstoppers” album has been at No. 1 for two straight weeks on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart. GLEE has also surpassed U2 as the group with the most Billboard-charting songs of the past 10 years.
The series follows an optimistic teacher, WILL SCHUESTER (Matthew Morrison), who – against all odds and malicious cheerleading coach SUE SYLVESTER (Jane Lynch) – inspires McKinley High’s Glee Club to conquer the world one singing competition at a time. The group of aspiring stars includes RACHEL (Lea Michele), a pint-size diva with powerhouse pipes; FINN (Cory Monteith), the gullible quarterback with rock-and-roll blood; KURT (Chris Colfer), the fashionable soprano with a heart of gold; diva extraordinaire MERCEDES (Amber Riley); geeky guitarist ARTIE (Kevin McHale); TINA (Jenna Ushkowitz), the punk rocker with a sweet side; pregnant cheerleader QUINN (Dianna Agron); and the arrogant PUCK (Mark Salling). Will is determined to make Glee great again with the help of his colleague and love interest EMMA PILLSBURY (Jayma Mays).
In addition to the regular cast, GLEE has featured guest appearances by a wide range of talented performers, including Kristen Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Molly Shannon, Neil Patrick Harris, Mike O’Malley and Olivia Newton-John.
GLEE is produced by Ryan Murphy Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are co-creators of the series. Murphy, Falchuk and Dante Di Loreto serve as executive producers, while Ian Brennan serves as co-executive producer. Re: GLEE'S First Season Re-Played This Summer Begins Thursday!
I went online last night to Amazon.com and saw where the full first season of Glee will be on DVD September 14. The second volume of season one is also available for less money, for those that bought the first nine episodes on volume one.

Re: GLEE'S First Season Re-Played This Summer Begins Thursday!
Since I was the last to leave Pigeon Forge...I paid one last homage to that Wal-Mart. Guess what I found. All three CD's of Glee. Well..no wonder Pennie and Jojo couldn't hear me frantically calling them on their phones. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Played them all the way home. Very enjoyable. DVD's sound like a good Christmas present.

Re: GLEE'S First Season Re-Played This Summer Begins Thursday!
Glee rerun tonight ...
Mr. Schuster divides the group into couples for a ballad and Finn has dinner with Quinn's parents.
S2 UPDATES ...
Carol Burnett is Sue Sylvester's mom on 'Glee'
By Michael Ausiello
This is so utterly perfect, I'm shocked we didn't think of it first: Comedy legend Carol Burnett has been tapped to play Sue Sylvester's Nazi-hunting mother on "Glee," sources confirm to me exclusively.
I'll give you a moment to process the sheer brilliance of that casting before continuing...
Sue referenced her adventurous parents in an episode of the Fox phenom last season. Details of Mama Sylvester's arrival are being kept under wraps, but I'm told Sue's father will not be accompanying her.
The six-time Emmy-winning Burnett has made only a handful of TV appearances in recent years, most notably playing Bree's evil stepmother on "Desperate Housewives" in 2006 and a Rockette-turned-strip-club owner on "Law & Order: SVU" (for which she was nominated for an Emmy) in 2009.
Burnett's episode is slated to air in October or November.
Murphy dishes on 'Glee' stories
BEVERLY HILLS -- Former News Sentinel reporter Ryan Murphy is pulling back the reins on "Glee" for its second season, to premiere next month. "We're scaling it back and focusing more on the stories" of secondary characters instead of big guest stars and huge tributes, says Murphy, who is co-creator and executive producer of the hit musical comedy.
Most second season episodes will feature about six numbers. The Madonna episode had the biggest volume of songs so far, with nine tunes.
Season two of "Glee" will deal with everything from religion to Britney Spears. The first episode will be titled "audition" and will focus on the characters learning that life is one big audition. Episode two will be a Spears tribute, and the third episode will be about religion and what God means to the characters.
The number of "gleeks" keeps on growing and its legion has surprising names in it. Murphy received a mix tape from Paul McCartney recently. "I thought I was being punked," he told reporters this week. "It sort of came out of the blue."
McCartney sent a note that asked Murphy if he'd want to use any of McCartney's songs on the show. Murphy's response? "Of course," he said.
The "Glee" version of "Don't Stop Believin'" charted higher than the original song did. The producers said former Journey front man Steve Perry "couldn't be happier" with that achievement, Murphy said.
Five original songs will be used in an episode airing in the later part of the second season.
"Glee" is going into this year's Emmys with more nominations than any series this season. It also scooped up three honors from the Television Critics Association this past week. One was for Program of the Year.
Murphy's first writing job was at the News Sentinel. He started out covering breaking news but asked -- and got -- to switch to features and lifestyles reporting.
