I got the magazine! It was fun to read! Do you still get Entertainment magazine? I saw they had Rachel and Mr. Schuster on the cover!
I got the 2nd half of S1 yesterday at Walmart. It was $29, I think! The whole season was $45 or $50 maybe???
Watched the season finale again last night! Great music!!!

Re: GLEE - Season 2
Interesting...new characters introduced. I liked them both. I didn't like any of the old kids as well as I usually did. Just something off with the plot or dialog now. And Mr. Schuster?? What is he? A ping pong ball??!!

Re: GLEE - Season 2
I 've been surprised that no one has posted lately... Ok. I'll say what's on my mind...feel free to disagree with me.
Fuzy haired guy(Britney episode)...just grossed me out...
This show airs locally for me at 7p.m. Lots of small kids and pre-teens still up...not to mention the teens and fuddy duddy's like myself.
I was agast at the cheerleader orgy and thought Craig had changed to a porn channel. It seems so sad that while the songs and dances are beyond fantastic that there's just one sexual inuendo after another. I get it that they are trying to portray teens exploring their sexual feelings...nothing wrong with that...I like the way that Kurt's problems are dealt with so far. Particularly where his dad said that until he found someone as brave as himself that he was going to be dancing alone...or somthing like that...It's a statement that holds true for all of us whether you're gay or straight, left or right, popular or unpopular. But I admit that many of the "situations" are more adult then I care for for my young nieces to see...much less myself. I'd rather use my imagination... Has the show "jumped the shark" for me? Sad to say...it's close.

Re: GLEE - Season 2
Not to be contrary...but I think the sexual situations are probably pretty dead on for the age these kids are. It's a bit much from this prospective but wasn't everything a bit extreme at 16?
Anyhoooo..
Liking the season so far and completely pa-syked about them doing Rocky Horror!
Then again, my friends and I were sneaking out for midnight showings when I was 14...because I was possessed by the devil... uhh..then.
I am, of course, purely sweetness and light now.
Anyhoooo..

I was hoping for contrary... Yes, in an age where I'm seeing 8 year olds hancuffed for drugs and treated just like juveniles in court...I get what you are saying. But I can't help but wonder that now "it's the norm on TV" that that's what the kids think is expected of them.
The situations may be dead on for the age group...But for me it's just too in your face. I just wish they would back off a bit and center more on relationships instead of sex for the sake of having sex in the show.
I'm psyched about Rocky Horror too!
Thanks for your opinion Sandisea I appreciate it. I learned somethng from it.
Re: GLEE - Season 2
It's that darn protective instinct that leads to the wincing away.
I think tv is much more didactic than it was back when we were watching Love Boat and Dukes of Hazzard. Blame thirtysomething. (I read that in Time magazine.....therapists where having their clients watch and learn...seriously!)
Teach? nah..exposed my inner Nothing new.

Re: GLEE - Season 2
I thought Kurt doing "I wanna hold your hand" in such a completely different context than I'd ever seen it done was pure genius.
Whereas I didn't really like Rachel doing Streisand songs (and I love Streisand songs) . The difference seemed to be that they are playing on Rachel's resemblance to Streisand and when she sings it seems like she is trying to "copy" Barbra's inimitable performance and it just comes off like parody.
Looking forward to what they can do with Rocky Horror next week. :cheerleader:

Re: GLEE - Season 2
Good episode this week. Gwyneth Paltrow did a nice turn as a substitute teacher (who can sing and dance! ) The only killjoy was them spending time on Schuster's ex-wife. When she wants to "sick baby" with him....ew[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
It was ALL worth it for a very clever re-invention of a classic old song at the very end.
