So with Brendon and Matt booted in the double elimination on Thursday we are down to the final 5. When Lane won HOH he put up Ragan and Enzo. Enzo was mad because he thought Lane should have put up Britney but Lane doesn't want Britney to go and reasoned that Ragan would be the natural target since he isn't a member of the Brigade. Lane, Enzo, and Hayden are the remaining Brigade members, having booted Matt for suspected treachery.

However, on Saturday Enzo won the POV competition, his first, and this Wednesday when it airs he will of course use it to remove himself from the block. This puts Lane in an awkward position because he's not supposed to nominate another Brigade member so he'll probably put Britney up hoping that the others will vote Ragan out, which is probably true. There are now only two eligible voters, Lane and Hayden which raises the possibility of a tie vote, normally avoided when there are more house guests earlier on. In that case Lane is required to cast the deciding vote and he will almost certainly vote for Ragan. So......that will take it down to the final four which means that they will have to have another double elimination in order to get down to the final two in order to end the season on time, whereupon the final vote for the winner of the $500k will be made by the residents of the jury house (earlier ones voted out who have been living there since then); Rachel, Brendon, Matt , Kathy, probably Ragan, and whoever gets booted during the last double elimination.

But Lane, Hayden and Enzo know that Britney must not make the final two because she would almost certainly win, only Rachel and Brendon would be likely to vote against her. So that's the scenario going into the final week...hold onto your hats !

A Grown-Up ‘Big Brother’ Finds Strong Ratings

NEW YORK – As it heads toward the conclusion of its 12th season, ‘Big Brother‘ is having a strong summer in the ratings.

The [color:1c2f=#366388 ! important][color:1c2f=#366388 ! important]Nielsen [color:1c2f=#366388 ! important]Co.
said the CBS reality show is averaging 7.6 million viewers for its
three weekly episodes, a 6 percent increase from last summer’s 7.2
million average. Among viewers ages 18 to 34, ratings are up 10 percent.

“We’ve been thrilled with the ratings this summer,” said [color:1c2f=#366388 ! important][color:1c2f=#366388 ! important]Allison[color:1c2f=#366388 ! important]Grodner,
executive producer. She’s been with the show since its second season,
when ‘Big Brother’ started to emphasize game-playing over the simple
voyeuristic experience of watching strangers live together.

Last
week all three of its episodes finished among Nielsen’s top 12
most-watched shows. For comparison, the only thing on Fox to reach that
many viewers was an exhibition football game, and the only thing on ABC
was Tuesday’s edition of ‘Wipeout.’

Entertainment
Weekly recently put ‘Big Brother’ atop its cultural barometer “Must
List,” calling the show “as addictively silly as ever.”

Producers
last year learned the importance of casting characters that people
enjoy following each week, Grodner said. She believes that’s been a big
reason for its success at a point most shows are running out of steam.

“You
can have a rootable villain or a fun villain,” she said. “You don’t want
to necessarily have someone who is completely hateable.”

‘Big Brother’ is working toward its [color:1c2f=#366388 ! important][color:1c2f=#366388 ! important]season [color:1c2f=#366388 ! important]finale on Sept. 15.

Big Brother 12: Week 9 HoH Endurance Competition Results

Here we go with another Big Brother 12 Endurance HoH Competition!
The endurance competition is a Christmas theme with the HGs having to work tree ornaments with just their fingers fitting through chicken wire. The first HG to get all his/her ornaments on the tree will be the new HoH!
Big Brother 12 Week 9 HoH Mini-Endurance Comp Results:
9:05 PM BBT – Waiting for the live feeds to return…
9:20 PM BBT – Hold that thought. Live Feeds are back and the comp is over… Insert sad face here… Waiting to hear who won. Sounds like it was Hayden.
9:23 PM BBT – Hayden won! Britney dropped so many balls she only had 6 left.
Well that was a huge dud. The comp is over and Hayden won. Will he
nominate Enzo or Lane to go up against Britney? I’m guessing Lane as
payback.

I'm not sure he would nominate Lane because the belief is that Enzo would get the most votes at the Final Two. But it may be an academic point because even if Enzo does go up Britney will probably be the one voted out, which is too bad because I wanted her to win.
Of course the POV competition is still to be held tomorrow and if Britney should win then all bets are off.
Meanwhile we had our first look at the Jury House last night showing the arrival of the last three voted out. It was shocking to see Rachel again after several weeks of peace.

So Hayden did put up Lane and Britney. Since Enzo won POV last Saturday, there is no reason for him to use it tomorrow. Lane and Britney will remain on the block and since Enzo has wanted Britney out for awhile he will vote for her (the only vote, since he's the only one left to vote this week). At least she did win $10k in last weeks 'reward' comp. So that leaves Hayden, Lane and Enzo in the final 3. Based on his past comp. record it's unlikely that Enzo will win HOH on Thursday meaning that he will be nominated for eviction by the winner and then booted, leaving Lane and Hayden as the final two. Who the jury house will award the win to is up for grabs. My guess would be Lane, but he comes from a wealthy Texas oil products supply family and doesn't need the $500 k as much as Hayden the student...so....

Big Brother 12: Week 9 Monday Live Feed Highlights

We’re almost to the Big Brother 12 finish line.
The remaining four HGs watched the hours creep by on Monday with little
game talk and mostly chit chat. The Veto Ceremony was skipped in lieu
of making it part of the Wednesday episode where we’ll see the Veto
comp, ceremony, eviction (of Britney), and the first round of the final HoH competition. The 3 rounds will complete on Thursday.

So with Lane, Hayden, and Enzo making it to the final 3, and the last HOH comp. divided into 3 parts, Hayden won the first one leaving Lane and Enzo to compete in the 2nd comp. Lane won it meaning that he and Hayden will face off next Wednesday in the 2 hour finale. The winner of that will have the privilege of naming who he will take with him to the final two. The winner of that, picked by the jury house members, will win the $500k. No matter who wins comp. #3, Lane and Hayden will pick each other to go to the final 2, leaving Enzo out in the cold. He realizes this already and has sunk into a blue funk. There's not much point in watching BB After Dark anymore, nothing happening with only 3 peeps in the house and one of them curled into a fetal ball, so not much to report until next Wed. Although in the Sunday night time slot they are going to show outtakes from past weeks that were never broadcast. That should be fun....

As to who will win....I'm guessing Hayden.

Yep, I guessed right. It was unfortunate that we had to suffer through another "dose" of Rachel, with luck that's the last we'll see/hear of her. If Brendon had any sense he would run now...far, far away.

But I was glad to see Britney win the $50k as America's pick as their favorite houseguest. She was so surprised. She actually won the 2nd largest cash amount after Hayden. She had previously won $10k in one of the competitions. Lane 'only' got $50k for his second place, although he did win a Hawaiian vacation in one of the competitions. I think Britney has the best chance to parley her BB role into more showbiz jobs as Jerri Manthey, Rob and Amber did on Survivor.
