Wow ! they've installed a new pool !  The first new one since the first season.  Does this portend a  greater than normal number of bikini babes or just needing a new pool to replace the 'worn out' old one. Probably only the latter....

Usually when all the "hopefuls" have been contacted that means that the final cast has been decided on by the producers barring any last minute 'back outs' or other unforeseen emergencies.

#2, Daniele, is my favorite player of all time. She had a 'showmance' with another HG and they got married later.

Some of these had apparent emotional/mental issues and shouldn't come back. It was miscalculations on productions part in the first place that got them on. But I would like to see Annie and Amber come back.  Annie was booted first in her season, she seemed nice.  Amber stuck around for most of her season but was constantly harassed by Caleb (Beast mode cowboy) and spent too much time fending him off. It would be nice to see her play without that distraction.

Those are all good advice. By now we, the 'expert fans', can see trouble coming a mile away if they are violated.

#3 is perhaps the most predictable type of alliance. I don't know why it is most often that female HGs fall into that 'trap'. Last season 3 of them formed an alliance literally within 2 minutes, with women they knew nothing about. It lasted maybe until the end of the first episode and was never spoken of again....

The men on the other hand tend to look for 'power' alliances which requires slightly longer analysis, but doesn't necessarily result in long term success, but when it does it can produce the winner.

Then there are the 'extreme power' players who think they can, and try to, bully and intimidate everyone right from the start. They of course are reviled and loathed immediately and rarely make it past the first week. These are not surprisingly men, 90 +% of the time. But when it's a woman they can be suffering from actual emotional and mental imbalance which causes the other HGs to regard them with confusion and uncertainty as to how to deal with them.  Probably the most extremely example of this was last season with Audrey. The fact that she was also transgendered caused even more uncertainty as to how to handle her and she survived longer than expected. But eventually her total meltdown caused her booting.

There is no other true reality show past, present, or I suspect, future where psychological, psycho-sexual, and just plain psychosis on the part of the participants plays such a dominate and "entertaining" role. Which is why it's been around for 18 years !

If there are four returning players as coaches, I can't imagine that one of them would be Audrey. She couldn't handle herself last season, how could she coach anyone else ?  Also, Ian Terry is a teacher and the show sched. runs into the start of the school year which would be a conflict for him, but he could be a good coach.  Derrick and Vanessa are both more likely as coaches, he won and she is a good strategizer.

Also, it looks like there are a new group of coaches which is good because the first rumored group didn't make sense.

New cast revealed.

No big surprises as far as appearances go. Will watch the interviews on the live feeds to see if there is something "outstanding" about any of them. Having one gay person is usually done, last seasons 'experiment' with the first transgendered person didn't go so well so they may not try that again.  The oldest person this season is 50, no ground breaking there. Have been as old as 70 in past seasons.

Okay, after watching the interviews it looks like this season will be 'calmer' if only because there appears to not be any out and out psychos. Of course we can never be sure until they get in the house and start trying to manipulate people.  There is the one NYC resident, who is also the oldest, and they almost always have one person from NYC or NJ who has "seen and done it all" so will attempt to be intimidating for that reason. But they are never the actual psychos, nor do they ever win. Nor does it appear that anyone is gay or otherwise psycho-sexually challenged. This will probably prove to not be true further along....

This season there are mostly "stud muffins" in the male cast, no freaks or geeks, there is usually one, they often win. The males seem to be calm and reasonable with normal jobs in most cases.

Same thing on the female side,  possibly more potential "bikini babes" than in some past seasons, but of course we have to actually see the bikinis before knowing how accurate that is. One traveling nurse who seems nice, Bridgette, but at the moment  my favorite is Tiffany Russo who is the sister of Vanessa Russo the professional poker player from last season.  Tiffany is a math teacher and has a 'soothing' sort of voice, some would say 'sexy' but not contrived.

Several of the females have the high pitched, 'whiney' voices that wear on you quickly and puts them in the sights for early booting.

The one "sketchy" female is Bronte D'Agostino. She says she is a 'math whiz' and wants to be a mathematician. When Jeff asked her what 9 X 9 was, she said that she couldn't do math in her head, but always needs paper and pencil or a calculator, "but I can solve integrals like crazy". This sort of delusion is a common sign of mental instability at least within BB cast members.  It has been seen on past seasons and is immediately recognizable by any experienced fan. We will have to watch Bronte closely and she is a predictable 'early bootee'.

So, now we wait for the 22nd to see what happens. Meanwhile the fan blogs will go crazy with praise and condemnations based on nothing concrete.

Who the four coaches from past seasons are remains to be seen but the latest rumors about them are probably accurate.

I think the second listed group of four "Coaches" will prove to be correct. However, they should be actual coaches to the 12 newbies and not be competing against them. Fans don't like that. It was tried in earlier seasons.

If this is the only "dirt" that can be dug up, so far, then we should be in for a fairly placid season. Although I'm sure they are looking for something more on the women...

The HGs enter the house today. So the total 'days in the house' are always 7 more than just counting the days from the TV shows and live feeds. I always forget this and it makes my 'day count' inaccurate in my interminable postings on the thread....but not this year !

Julie Chen takes us on a tour of the house. They have outdid themselves this season with excessive 'busyness' decor but they do it to keep the background from becoming too bland, which can happen when you're looking at the same walls for 3 months !

But I don't think, or at least don't hope so, that the 4 'mystery HGs will be playing directly against the new 12. I hope they will be coaches as rumored.

As a general rule the producers don't like the HGs to dwell on the weather conditions, especially when they are out in the back yard which is enclosed on all 4 sides and doesn't get any breeze but is always hot. So will this more extreme heat cause greater than usual comments ?

Live feeds don't start until tomorrow night after the CBS show but it looks like CBS has simplified and improved the process this year. If there is an eviction on Thursday as many expect , the live feeds will show us the aftermath.
