Oh no Rus ! I doubt they will resolve it any time soon, if at all.

Re: Hell on Wheels
So it looks like Bohannon has gotten himself into a spot of bother. But I suspect that Durant will bail him out before the firing squad gets to him..

I was able to watch the first episode of season 2 online. I hope it will be as easy to find and watch the rest of the season online.

I run late with HOW viewing. I have to DVR it on Sunday and watch it during the week. Haven't seen last nights ep yet.

Re: Hell on Wheels
That's it! I am done with this depressing show. I hung in there through the unspeakable violence and the psychotic characters...but there was one character death too many tonight. And I just don't see the show coming back from that...not for me anyway.

Re: Hell on Wheels
Haven't watched the DVR yet, sounds good ....? , but I suspect it will be back. For those of us who were fans of Deadwood on HBO , which was cancelled too soon.....producer got tired of the project......HOW is rather mild in its violence in comparison. Just sayin'......

Re: Hell on Wheels
I don't know why they found it necessary to kill off Mrs. Bell. She was one of the more bright spots in the cast. Gunderson is a different matter. It's a wonder he survived as long as he did. Why Bohannon thought it necessary to go out to the trestle to hang him rather than in town is a mystery...

Re: Hell on Wheels
I think that Bridge is his tribute to Mrs. Bell. That's where he tied her scarf. He thinks of it as "hers". And that's why it was the perfect place to have his ritual sacrifice.
But they were the couple I identified with. I'm just not much interested in seeing more morose Bohannan.

Thanks for clearing up the 'mystery'. I didn't snap to why he put the scarf on the pole.

Re: Hell on Wheels
AMC has renewed drama "Hell on Wheels" for a third season of 10 episodes.
The renewal comes even as the audience for the period program set in the post-Civil War era of railroad construction saw its audience decline in season two, which wrapped up Oct. 7. Viewership for the finale totaled 2.2 million.
"Hell" aired from November to January in its first season, then moved to an August premiere for season two. Season three has not been scheduled on the calendar.

Re: Hell on Wheels
Well, not so fast....
AMC may have jumped the gun on their official pickup of "Hell On Wheels" third season. As we reported last week, the network picked up the series for a ten-episode Season 3, though the creators and executive producers Joe and Tony Gayton were leaving their posts.
Now, showrunner John Shiban has also left the show, choosing not to renew his contract with the series. "I'm very proud of our work on 'Hell On Wheels' and was thrilled to hear the show would have a Season Three," Shiban says in a statement to Deadline. "I have since made the difficult decision that the time has come for me to leave. I care deeply about the series and will do whatever I can to aid in the transition to ensure the continued success of the show. I truly value all the time I have spent with this wonderful group of very talented people."
In response to Shiban's exit, AMC has reneged on its decision to pick up Season 3 -- at least, temporarily. The network's decision to pick up the show is now contingent on them approving the replacement showrunner, as evidenced by AMC's statement below.
"John Shiban has informed AMC, Entertainment One and Endemol that while he was fully on board when the network informed him about their intent to pick-up Hell on Wheels, he has since made the personal decision that he will be unable to return as showrunner. He has asked the production partners to seek a replacement showrunner. Like all of our shows, network pick-ups are always conditioned on an approved showrunner. We are confident that eOne and Endemol will satisfy that obligation in the near future."

Re: Hell on Wheels
Hmmm.....they'll probably find someone to step in. But that show struck me as being a lot of work to control and produce and not having the sort of rabid fan base that The Walking Dead has, for one example.

Re: Hell on Wheels
They have found someone!
MC's "Hell on Wheels" is back on track, with John Wirth named as the period drama's new showrunner, Deadline reports.
The Anson Mount series was renewed for a third season in October, but production was then put on hold after showrunner John Shiban chose to step down.
The show has had a tumultuous few months, with creators Joe and Tony Gayton leaving after their contracts were not renewed at the end of the second season. Shiban was supposed to take over for the duo, The Hollywood Reporter notes, but he left after a few days in charge. The Gaytons will reportedly stay on in a consulting role.
"As we gear up for season three of 'Hell On Wheels' we are pleased to have such an accomplished showrunner as John Wirth join our team,” Susie Fitzgerald, AMC’s SVP of scripted development and current programming, told Deadline. “With the help of our partners at Entertainment One, Endemol and Nomadic, we look forward to a new season of the poetic and pulpy adventures of Cullen Bohannan and the other characters as they build the railroad across the US."
"Hell on Wheels" Season 3 is scheduled to begin production shortly for a tentative third-quarter 2013 premiere.

Hell on Wheels - Two-Hour Season Three Premiere on Saturday, August 10 at 9:00 PM ET/PT (New Premiere Date)
Season three of "Hell on Wheels" finds Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) leaving his vengeance-seeking behind and investing in the new American landscape. The season opens in 1867, the third year of the building of the transcontinental railroad, and the beginnings of big business, big religion, and the new role of Wall Street in the White House. Bohannon must contend with racism, greed and murder as he single-mindedly leads the Union Pacific in its race across the country against the Central Pacific Railroad.

Re: Hell on Wheels
Caught up on TV with Xfinity OnDemand. That first 95 minute premier was a little different. Say what anyone will about the Mormons, but when the second revolution comes they will be right on the front lines fighting along side all the other patriots.
The addition of the NY reporter is good. They need some 'outside' female influence since they killed off Lily.

Re: Hell on Wheels
It is twisted genius to have that particular character end up being taken in by the Mormon group. That's going to cause plenty of trouble later.
Bohannan's comment about getting the rights to the lumber was priceless "Twern'nt no trouble at all."

That's good news. That was a double cliff hanger at the end of S3 so we'll need to see what happens with Cullen and Common after his fight with the bear.
