Good grief ! This means we won't see the end until 2013 ! But they don't say if all 16 eps will be shot this year.....I suspect they will. They are shooting now and it would be more economical to do them all at once. Aaron Paul has tweeted some things that made the news. I'll see if I can find them...

Cranston: 'Breaking Bad' will split final season

by [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The question of whether AMC will indeed split the final season of Breaking Bad is close to an official verdict.

Emmy-winning series star Bryan Cranston says AMC will break the
award-winning drama’s final 16-episode season into two separate runs, as
has been speculated for months. “We’re splitting it,” says Cranston,
who’s currently shooting the fifth season premiere in New Mexico. “We’re
going to shoot the first eight, then take a four-month production
break, then the rest will air next year.”

The network has not announced a premiere date for Breaking Bad, though actors on the show say the drama will return in July.

AMC and Sony Pictures TV have maintained radio silence on
the show’s return and distribution plan. A studio spokesperson says the
four-month production hiatus is “one scenario” that’s being considered.
The network wants to divide the final season so it has a strong summer
drama airing this year and the next (it would also presumably allow Breaking Bad to be eligible for two award-season cycles). With Breaking Bad
production under way and summer right around the corner, obviously the
schedule should get firmed up soon, though AMC has shown a willingness
to engage in some production brinksmanship in the

Cranston, who’s directing the upcoming April 11 episode of ABC’s Modern Family, is expected to direct the ninth episode of Breaking Bad‘s final season (the 2013 premiere, assuming all goes according to plan).

“We pick up right where we left off,” Cranston says of the
fifth-season opener. “We’re cleaning up the pieces from last season’s
huge ordeal where Gus Fring was forced to meet his maker. It’s not as
easy as Walter thought. And as we’ve discovered over the years, you
don’t really know who Walter White is. I’m still discovering
who he is and I’m trying to allow myself to be open to him going darker
and darker. There’s physical danger to himself and his family, plus
there’s the emotional danger due to his anger and hubris. It’s about the
evil that men do and where that takes him.”

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Emmy winner [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] has had someone break bad on him during filming of the AMC show's new season in Albuquerque, N.M.

Paul
sent a series of since-deleted tweets earlier this week noting that
he's "been robbed twice" since he arrived in New Mexico to film Season 5
of "Breaking Bad."

"First time was my car and this time around
it was my house," Paul wrote. "... Can't wait to be back in L.A. It's so
much safer there."

In an police report, Paul said someone broke
into his house on April 1 and stole a laptop computer, sunglasses and a
voice recorder, Albuquerque TV station [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

"I love ABQ and the people," he added. "Just felt violated and super sad to lose personal items from my home."

Police
haven't made any arrests, but if we were them we'd keep an eye out for
Skinny Pete. "Breaking Bad" returns to AMC in the summer.

Q&A - Lavell Crawford (Huell)

Comedian Lavell Crawford -- Saul Goodman's bodyguard Huell -- explains how working with prisoners informed his character and how he worked Breaking Bad into his stand-up routine.

Q: What was it like to go from being a stand-up comic to a tough guy on Breaking Bad?

A: I loved it, it was a great opportunity to be on a hot show. There were a lot of directors and they wanted to shoot so many angles -- like the scene where I had to take a dump? They made me do seven different takes! They were like, "Do a little more, act like it came out a little more." I was like, "Jesus Christ I'm about to crap on myself!"

Q: What did you think when you showed up on set to find that you were actually one of two comedians playing Saul Goodman's henchmen?

A: When I walked in and saw Bill Burr (Kuby), I thought it was hilarious. We've worked together as comedians, so he laughed and I laughed too. It was so funny that we were playing these guys that were going to scare the hell out of Ted.

Q: Did you get a chance to do stand-up in Albuquerque?

A: No, we didn't have any time for that. It's so cloak-and-dagger that you don't get your script until the night you get there, so after that you're getting your mind together for the show. Us comedians are very meticulous and we want to do it right on screen, you know, so if I'm choking a guy or whatever, I still want to practice.

Q: What was your prep like for the big scene where Huell and Kuby go to collect from Ted Beneke?

A: I just played intimidating, like my daughter was going on a date with somebody I didn't know. Or like I was working security and my feet hurt and I didn't want to be there. I used to be a turnkey in the City of Pagedale Municipal Courthouse, when they're putting in the prisoners with misdemeanors or traffic tickets or gangster-type folks and all that. So it kind of came naturally.

VIDEO: Inside Episode 411, "Crawl Space"

Q: What's the secret to looking intimidating?

A: You really gotta look like you got a little bit of gas. Almost like you want to say something real rude but you're holding it in. It's not a real grimace -- it's just a state of mind, like you're looking right behind that person and you're in another world, where you look like you're mad but they don't know if you're going to kill them or you're sleeping.

Q: You ever use that look to your benefit in real life?

A: I do it to my 15-month-old son all the time. It works sometimes.

Q: On Breaking Bad, which characters crack you up?

A: I always liked Gustavo. He was so cool even to the last drop, when he came out straightened up his tie and fell down. And then my man [Tio] who talks with the bell, that was just genius. He was snitching with his bell, he pissed on the floor -- he could do so much without saying anything.

Q: Huell and Kuby are part of Saul Goodman's "A-Team." Who from the show would be on your A-team?

A: I like the twins, man. They didn't say nothing. They were pretty hard. I really like the bad guys so the twins would be on my A-Team because ain't nobody going to be able to mess with me if they're hanging out with me.

Q: Do you ever bring your experiences on the show into your stand-up routines?

A: A little bit, but I don't talk about it much. I do one thing about crystal meth about how it's a kind of a white man's drug -- there's so much science and math going into it! If I gotta pull out some trigonometry to get high, I'm going to rehab.

Q: In your stand-up routines you talk about white people problems. Do you think Walt and Jesse's predicaments are "white people problems"?

A: You know, Walt is very financially savvy with his money. If he was black he'd be blinging and have a few Escalades and most definitely be cheating on Skyler. They'd have shot each other by the second season.

Bitsui is a Navajo name so I assume he's Navajo. scratch

All articles from Breaking Bad blog »
Q&A - Jeremiah Bitsui (Victor)

Actor Jeremiah Bitsui who plays Gus's erstwhile henchman Victor on AMC's Breaking Bad, talks to AMCtv.com about what it's like to get killed on set and why he gets recognized in unlikely places.

Q: The box cutter! What was it like getting your throat slit in the Season 4 Premiere?

A: They brought me into a special effects house in North Hollywood and fitted me with the prosthetic that went around my neck. We practiced the choreography and we did a bunch of tests to see how the squirting was. I would get a little sponge bath in between takes but still there was blood on everything. There was so much blood shooting it that day that by the end of it my underwear was soaked. I've never done anything like that before.

Q: Were you bummed that your time on the show was over?

A: I was originally going to be in only one episode in Season 2, so when I found out that I was in Season 3 I was amazed. Everyone would look at me like I was a dead man walking because most bad guys hadn't lived that long up to that point. I was just thankful to have died that way rather than in a big gun fight and just been randomly shot.

Q: That scene inspired a lot of strong reactions, was it hard for you to watch as a viewer?

A: Yeah, you know up until that point I'd never died in anything before. As a viewer the first time I watched it was the premiere in LA. Everyone was shocked and freaked out. It was a little eerie, the tone in the room.

Q: We don't learn much about Victor outside of his work for Gus. What did you imagine him to be like?

A: I didn't see him as a thug. I thought of him maybe as just a younger guy with a military background. Maybe he knew a lot about arms, explosives and warfare. I thought of him being comfortable with being a utility or tool, but of course later you realize that Victor does want to be higher up in the food chain. I grew up in and out of Albuquerque and I knew a lot of no-nonsense guys from somewhat shady backgrounds, so I had a wealth of people and characters to draw on.

VIDEO: Inside Episode 401, "Box Cutter"

Q: How did you land the role as Victor? Were there any other roles you auditioned for?

A: When I first read for Breaking Bad, it was actually a different role. This girl got it and I met her in the audition, but I had wanted that role. When I left the audition the casting director ran out -- and this was a signature thing for her -- and she grabbed me and was like, "We want you to read for another role." She gave me this cold read for the character that became Victor.

Q: Does anybody ask you about what it was like to play a bad guy on Breaking Bad?

A: Victor never really did anything horrible -- he wasn't like a gross character -- but what was amazing was a lot of people would come up and be like, "Oh you were so bad, you were so mean." And I was like, "I never did anything or killed anybody!" When I create a character that is considered kind of a bad guy, I always try to find their redeeming qualities.

Q: You've acted in a bunch of big productions like Natural Born Killers. Has your role as Victor given you the most visibility?

A: Yeah, you know. I was really blessed enough to have been a part of Natural Born Killers, but Breaking Bad was awesome. The amount of times I'll get recognized in the restroom is really funny. Some guy this weekend was like, "Yo, Vincent!" and I was like "um," and he was like "Oh, Victor!" The three places I'm most recognized are Albuquerque, New York and the restroom for some reason.

'Breaking Bad' News: Season 5 Poster, Encore Episodes and the 'Dirtiest' Season Yet
Tuesday, June 05, 2012

Jenn Lee

Staff Writer, BuddyTV
Add as BuddyTV Friend »

ALL HAIL THE KING.

The official Breaking Bad season 5 poster has been released with a simple caption that couldn't be clearer: Walter White (played by Bryan Cranston) is back, and he's poised to reign. At this point, AMC could have released a Post-it with a stick man drawing of Cranston and it would get us excited. But they understandably went further, and as far as key art goes, this image certainly has us eagerly awaiting that July 15 season 5 premiere date.

Here's the official description to accompany the poster release: "No longer under the thumb of a mastermind criminal, Walt now assumes the role of one himself, as he and Jesse (Aaron Paul) look to build their own empire. Meanwhile, Skyler (Anna Gunn) struggles with the reality of her husband's new role and Hank (Dean Norris) works to wrap up his investigation of Gus' business."

For a quick comparison to past key art, here's a side-by-side collage of the first four season official posters:

bb-s1234-key-art-560.jpgAlong with this poster release is another bit of good news: AMC will be encoring the first four seasons starting Sunday, June 10. So whether you're a newcomer wanting to catch up before the final season begins or a hardcore fan who wants to relive the past four seasons of greatness, you can tune in every night and watch the series from beginning to end.

Though this image seems to indicate the final season will complete Walter's transformation from meek chemistry teacher to full-fledged Albuquerque drug king pin, even Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan isn't entirely sure how the series will end. At The Hollywood Reporter's annual Emmy roundtables, Gilligan revealed, "I would like to know more about how it ends, frankly. I would feel more comfortable." But one thing Gilligan is sure of is wanting "the show to end in as satisfying a way as possible" (according to Zap2it). "That's all that matters to me, no matter what the specifics are."

Similarly, co-star Aaron Paul (who plays Jesse Pinkman) was unable to share specifics about the upcoming season on Conan last night. He did, however, say, "there may or may not be a lot of deaths." (Translation: there will be a LOT of deaths.) Simply describing it as very "violent," "dark" and the "dirtiest" season yet, Paul pretty much solidified that as fact. But in terms of who those deaths will be, we probably won't find out until the season actually begins, July 15.

Check out the rest of Paul's clip on Conan below:

One thing about Cranston, tell him what sort of expression is required and he can nail it.

Yesterday on the morning local radio talk show that I listening to, KKOB-AM 770, The Blowtorch of the Great Southwest....anyway the host and his sidekick were discussing the station mgr's. role in the new season. I don't know if he appears on screen or they just use his voice as an announcer, etc., they didn't make it clear, but when BB goes into syndication every time that episode airs on any station, anywhere, any time, he gets $7. They were laughing.."Getting rich $7 at a time"....but hey ! that can add up when you consider how many stations a popular syndicated show plays on every day. Consider Friends, Seinfeld, 2 1/2, HIMYM, etc. The stars of those shows could just about live on their syndication fees alone, if they wanted to.

Oh the humanity !!! Cry Cry Cry Sad

AMC dropped by DISH Network; customers to miss new Breaking Bad season

updated 7/1/2012 12:46:35 AM ET

The hit television show Breaking Bad just finished shooting its fifth season in Albuquerque.

The show's season premier airs July 15 on AMC stations.

However, subscribers to DISH Network will not be able to watch the new season because the company is dropping AMC from its programming lineup on Sunday.

Negotiations between DISH and AMC haven't been amicable, and a resolution is not imminent.

That might be sad news for some of the 145,000 DISH subscribers in New Mexico.

For ABQ Trolley Co. it's an opportunity.

Owners and trolley guides Mike Silva and Jesse Herron are big Breaking Bad fans. They offer a tour of Albuquerque locations where the show has filmed.

"We have found people from all over the world who know the show, they think of Albuquerque, they think of Breaking Bad," Herron said.

ABQ Trolley will show the premier as part of its Bad Tour on July 15. (they're charging $60 ! No ) Guests will get the chance to visit different filming locations from the season's first episode.

Other out of luck DISH subscribers can also watch new episodes Sunday night at Broken Bottle Brewery, 9421 Coors Blvd. NW Suite K.

R.J. Mitte (Walt Jr.) doesn't talk like that in real life in his local TV interviews but he has that 'breath-y/nasal- y' quality down pat in his role and never screws up.

Wouldn't have Dish if it were free. Have never used them and didn't care one way or the other until they started calling Craig on his cell phone everyday for two weeks that they were coming out to install dish and we needed to be at the house when they showed up. Craig was polite and told them we didn't order it and when they insisted we did he hung up. They never showed. Then two weeks later they started calling saying we were going to be sued for non-payment of services. I guess I was looking for something to "chew up." I got on the phone which of course went to New Delhi, India. Said many things I can not repeat here...long story short I told them if I ever heard from Dish again I would make it my life purpose to destroy the company and that if a truck showed up in front of my house I would take a hammer to it and then put it in an envelope and mail it to them postage due. Needless to say, haven't heard a word from dish...better not.

If you look Dish up on the internet you will see in .03 seconds why you shouldn't use them.

Now back on subject...I can't wait for this to start...it's killin' me. tongue

Wow ! That's quite an experience AR. I get constant mail from Dish with their "offers", but no personal contact. I suppose everyone using Comcast is on their mailing list. scratch With BB, The Walking Dead and Hell on Wheels all on AMC any customer here would be fools to sign up with them now.

Back on the subject......ABQ Trolley says that they have gotten permission from Sony to run the tours to the BB sites. I can't figure out why they would need permission. The sites are all viewed from public streets...heck, I can even show you a couple.....and they don't indicate that tour customers will be getting out and walking around the sites, which are all privately owned and not connected with Sony in any way , so it's a mystery why they need Sony's permission. scratch
