"Game is in production here........
Game is a near-future action/thriller starring Gerard Butler (Kable) as
the champion of an on-line game called "Slayers". Mind-control
technology has taken society by storm and "Slayers" allows humans
control other humans in mass-scale, multiplayer online game. With his
every move tracked by millions, Kable's ultimate challenge becomes
regaining his identity and launching an attack on the system that has
imprisoned him.
They have built a big metal box covering a parking lot downtown, don't know what it will be used for, it's as big as a building, looks sort of "industrial futuristic" on the outside.
Over on the S.E. side of town the have taken over a BMX park for massive battle scenes for three days and nights, 3 pm - 7am. It will involve bombs, machine guns, plenty of explosions. The nearby neighbors have been given the offer of being put up in hotels for those three days plus $50 a day per diem. They don't have to take the offer of course if they don't think the nightly battles will disturb them. Many have taken the offer, a few killjoys have protested.

Some neighbors not happy about movie filming
A movie to be filmed in Albuquerque next month has some neighbors upset about the noise it may bring to the neighborhood.
Film producers have said that next month the B-M-X track will become
a noisy and explosive battleground for three straight days and nights.
Film producers of the Game said an overwhelming majority of the neighbors that will affected by the noise, support the idea.
But there are some neighbors that don't want to deal with the noise.
Retired Albuquerque police officer Tony Hernandez and his wife said
they're not going to let the noises of a movie production force them
out of their home.
"We're not going to go anyplace, we're going to stay right here," said Tony Hernandez.
Last week employees of the film passed out forms to neighbors of the B-M-X track.
The form states that for three days in November, scenes will be
filmed at the track between the hours of 3 p.m. and 7 a.m. and it warns
of what's to come.
It says that neighbors should be prepared to hear battle sequences,
simulated full-load gunfire, explosions, stunts, and special effects.
The form does state that the neighbors have an option.
"The residents are being offered a hotel room and they're being
offered fifty dollars per diem per person and most people are pretty
excited about getting to have this," said Ann Lerner of the Albuquerque
Film Office.
City officials said most of the people took the offer and support the filming.
"If they're right up front with it, I don't know what else you can ask for really," said B-M-X track neighbor Bob Faulkner.
The executive producer of the film said that he hopes people will
realize the economic benefits the movie is going to bring to
Albuquerque, rather than the minor inconveniences.

Gosh, that's interesting. I'd jump at the chance to spend 3 days at a hotel on somebody else's dime. How about you?
