La lalalalala...fingers in my ears (or hands over my eyes) whatever. I am not reading these articles until after the show tonight. I hope to be surprised and I hope it is fun.

No spoilers in those articles, although Cobie said she burst into tears when she first read the script.

Re: How I Met Your Mother #3
I thought it was a good finale too. At the beginning I was confused because it seemed sort of fragmented, jumping back and forth time-wise and the Robin/Barney wedding never was shown even though Robin was wearing the wedding dress all through the past several episodes. But then it became obvious that to show it would have been redundant since they divorced later.
It wasn't too surprising that the Mother died because that had been hinted at in spoilers. I was happy to see that Ted and Robin finally got together. That should have been the (permanent) outcome all along but of course that wouldn't have made it possible to last 9 seasons.
At the end where Ted's kids were urging him to go see Robin........that scene was filmed in 2005 during the first season ! Carter and Bays had already known how the show would end and had to film them with that dialog when the kids still looked that young. Lyndsey Fonseca went on to a big role in 'Nikita' you will remember.
They are now under development with How I Met Your Dad.....

It looks like Cobie has had more, and varied roles before and after HIMYM than any of them.

I don't think any of these endings are better than the actual one. After all, he wound up with Robin. You can't do better than that.

My main gripe is that Neil Patrick Harris' character spent seasons becoming a better man only to regress to the manchild he was at the start...nice scene with the baby tho.

I think I understand your point although I can't identify any particular times where he became a 'better man' womanizer-wise, other than convincing Robin to marry him....

Re: How I Met Your Mother #3
Alas, I didn't see but three episodes of this. It didn't catch my interest but now that it's over I think I may watch all the episodes at some point. I see a major marathon in my future.
Re: How I Met Your Mother #3
9 years is a pretty 'major' marathon !

LOL! I'll probably do a couple of season at a time. Or, maybe even three.

Cristin Milioti Learned of Her How I Met Your Mother Fate on Christmas: "I Was Sobbing!"

How I Met Your Mother
Quick spoiler warning: do not keep reading if you have yet to watch How I Met Your Mother 's series finale. (Though come on, how are you that lazy?!)
The How I Met Your Mother creators' Christmas gift for Cristin Milioti? Informing her that The Mother was dead. Seriously!
Though many fans of the beloved CBS sitcom were theorizing that Tracy (aka The Mother) had passed away, which was revealed to be true in the final episode, Milioti told reporters at the 2014 Summer TCA Press Tour, "I didn't know from the beginning, I had no idea."
While at NBC's TCA day to promote her charming new romantic comedy, A to Z, Milioti told the hilariously sad story of how she learned of her HIMYM fate.
NEWS: HIMYM 's spinoff How I Met Your Dad isn't happening...for now
"They told me at the Christmas party," Milioti said. " Craig [Thomas] was talking to me and we both had a couple of drinks. And he gets very giddy and happy when he's had a few, and he was like, 'Do you want to know how it ends?' And as complete joke I said, 'What, do I die?' And he was like, 'Do you want to know?' and I said, 'Yeah, I do.' And he told me."
Her immediate reaction? "I sat there sobbing. He wrote me an e-mail the next day, being like, 'I'm so sorry I told you that way, you seemed really upset.'"
Of course, Milioti wasn't the only one sobbing over The Mother's fate as she quickly became a fan favorite after (finally) being introduced in the season eight finale. After her death in the series finale, Ted ( Josh Radnor) eventually ended up with Robin ( Cobie Smulders), an extremely polarizing finish that inspired a whole lot of backlash on social media.
NEWS: HIMYM 's alternate ending will be included on the DVDs
Milioti admitted, "I'm not on any social media, so I didn't feel the full brunt of it." (She is contemplating joining Instagram, by the way.) But she had a feeling when filming the finale that it would inspire a major reaction from the fans.
"I think that's a testament to the show that it was divisive because people were super invested and i know that while we were filming it, I had a sense that it might be very divided," she explained. "Because of course there are people that are always going to think Ted and Robin should be together and others that didn't."
Polarizing finish or not, Milioti said she loved her one-season stint on HIMYM. "I was so warmly welcomed to How I Met Your Mother that it felt like i had been there much longer than I actually was. I was so embarrassed ,I was crying just as hard as everyone on the last day, which is a testament to those people."
A to Z premieres Thursday, Oct. 2 on NBC.
