CBS Prez Confirms 'NCIS' Spinoff
By Victor Balta
Thu, 15 Jan 2009 07:10:17 GMT
CBS's
alphabet soup listing of primetime dramas is about to get a little more
crowded with the confirmation of a spinoff of the quiet hit "NCIS."
No
title was discussed, but CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said
Wednesday at the TV Critics Association Winter Press Tour that a
spinoff of "NCIS" is a go.
"We’re doing it," Tassler said.
"We’ve seen an outline. We’re in great shape, and we’re just waiting to
get the script. But we’re going to cast, and we’re going to shoot."
She
said the spinoff would be rolled out as an episode of "NCIS," which is
actually the same way fans might remember "NCIS" being introduced when
it was unveiled as a spinoff of "JAG" in April 2003.

Over and over we are seeing it....just an attempt to do the same show with a young cast. Gee, I never realized I was in a desirable demographic until I grew out of it.

Re: NCIS
Last night Gibbs and Dinozzo had to go to "Arizona" to check out a suspect. Guess where Arizona turned out to be !
It was "way out there" at Mt. Pino....."way back in the badlands, can only get there by horse "
Then the French lady from Lost showed up and shot at them with a rifle (she always seems to have a rifle and really gets around ). By that time I was throughly confused and took refuge in a Little Debbie 4 pack of powdered donuts.

Re: NCIS
An Amazing Shock’ in ‘NCIS’ Season Premiere
by Tracy Phillips
Sep 21st, 2009 | 7:07 AM10 10
“Do Not Miss the First Minute!” You’ve been warned, ‘NCIS‘ fans!
Tuesday’s season premiere features “an amazing shock,” executive producer Shane Brennan tells me.
And yes, Tony-Ziva fans, this pertains to you rabid lot.
“Tony and Ziva fans are going to be blown away by the first
episode,” says Brennan. “It’s not what they expect. We do this really
well on ‘NCIS.’ We say, this is what it’s about, and everyone says I
know what’s gonna happen, and then we just do this thing out of left
field. The first episode…everyone needs to watch the first minute.”
“Right at the very top in the first minute they’re gonna get an
amazing shock and they’re gonna go, ‘Okay…what the hell is happening?’
And they’re going to see….well, everyone who has been involved in this
episode thinks it’s probably one of the best episodes out of the 140
we’ve done.”
Should we believe the hype?
“I don’t tease,” says Brennan. “It’s very powerful.”
“There are some very powerful episodes in the first half dozen. Is
anyone in jeopardy? I won’t rule out that at some point in the future
we may lose another character. I don’t expect it to happen this season,
though.”

I read a reviews/spoilers for the first two eps of the new season, and what Brennan says is very true and if they don't have a "work around" to "fix" it later, there are going to be some very PO'd fans, me included....

Okay, you're killing me here. Please PM the spoiler. I know curiosity killed the cat...but satisfaction brought him back.
By the way, I did think this was a terrific episode although they overused the flashback footage a bit much. And that Gibbs is really one hell of a shot....twice.

I had never watched this show before.....but with all the promos...I decided to give it a try (with an ocassional flip back and forth to DWTS on ABC).
I really thought it was a great show.....not knowing the characters at all, it still grabbed my attention and kept it.
I will definitely get my DVR so I can do some recording going on this season......

Too late B! But it wasn't at all what I and presumably others had expected. Not that it was disappointing, far from it, just that what the producers said didn't seem to be what the first episode was.
That cast has great chemistry and have the "receipe" down pat. NCIS:LA will have a hard time matching it, and so far shows promise but only with O'Donnell and LL. Unfortunately I usually find Linda Hunt to be more annoying than anything else, and she is badly miscast in that role.

Re: NCIS
I also think the NCIS LA is missing the boat by making 2 "stars" instead of the kind of ensemble cast the original has. NCIS rules because not only does it do a police procedural type story each week but also mixes in humor and characters that you really relate to.
We'll see but my main interest remains Jethro & the gang.

Re: NCIS
I loved this week's NCIS. Power went out all over town and everything they normally do with computers had to be done by hand or with old tech devices they couldn't figure out how to work! It was hilarious.
The story was good too. I would have hated to have had a naval officer responsible for all the bad stuff. Fortunately, our gang is pretty darn smart. So justice prevailed.

Tonight was the season finale. It was the Christmas episode and involved Gibbs and his dad. Not a warm fuzzy relationship...but interesting. Also Abby and Tim got to spread some holiday joy and that had me tearing up. It was well done. I will miss this program. I hate all these short seasons and long hiatuses.

NCIS is back...this week was the 150th episode. They had Robert Wagner guest star as Tony DiNozzo Sr. It was fun to see Tony Jr. trying to cope with having good old Dad around. If you missed the episode you can still catch it here

Pretty dark episode tonight. Involved Gibb's former mother-in-law played by the incomparable Gena Rowlands. She was pretty tricksy and Gibbs was pretty tricksy his own self and in the end...there was a moral choice to be made and Gibbs may have stepped over the line. Wouldn't be the first time.

One ‘NCIS’ Vet Re-Signs, Three Still In
Limbo
by Matt Webb Mitovich
Apr 30th, 2010 | 9:09 AM | Comments 0
‘NCIS‘ fans should be feeling 25 percent less anxiety
this morning, now that one of the four series regulars who were not
signed for next season – David McCallum – has inked a new deal.
“He’s signed on for additional seasons,” the onetime ‘Invisible Man’s
manager tells TVGuideMagazine.com. “He’s excited to be coming
back.”
Dare we say, McCallum’s feeling just ducky about things?
Of those locked in for Season 8 (or beyond) of the CBS hit, McCallum
joins ‘NCIS’ lead Mark Harmon, Rocky Carroll (who plays Vance) and Cote de Pablo (Ziva).
Report:
Four ‘NCIS’ Stars In Salary Standoff
That leaves a trio of fan faves in limbo. Michael Weatherly (Tony), Sean Murray (McGee) and Pauley Perrette (Abby) each are still in talks to
continue on with TV’s most-watched scripted series. As reported by
Deadline.com, CBS had approached the unsigned ‘NCIS’ stars with “pretty
low-ball offers,” leading to a bit of a stalemate in their respective
renegotiations.

CBS has a big hit in this show. After all these years on tv, the audience is still growing!!! It is only right to share some of that with the stars (and they are all stars) of the show.

Weatherly On His
‘NCIS’ Future: I Want To Be ‘Hot Lips’ Hoolihan
by Matt

Michael Weatherly continues to be “very optimistic”
that he will sign a new deal with CBS’ ‘NCIS‘ – and doesn’t take for granted
for a second his status with TV’s most-watched drama series.
When Fancast posited that the occasional Jimmy-centric episode and
the increased presence of Rena Sofer’s M. Allison Hart could be the
‘NCIS’ brass’ way of saying, “Don’t get too cocky at the negotiating
table, because we have other chess pieces to play with,” Weatherly had
to agree: “Absolutely, and I think they should feel that way.”
Watch Full Episodes of ‘NCIS’
To illustrate the point, Weatherly said, “My dad went to Princeton
with a guy named Wayne Rogers – Trapper John on ‘M*A*S*H.’ I don’t know
what happened there, but suddenly there was B.J. Hunnicutt. And there
was Frank Burns, then all of a sudden there was Charles Winchester III.
There was McClean Stevenson, then all of a sudden there was Harry
Morgan. But you know what, there was always Radar.”
So… the dashing and dynamic Tony DiNozzo is meek, bespectacled Radar?
“I’d like to be Radar. I know I’m not Hawkeye, and I don’t want to be
Trapper,” Weatherly replied. “Maybe I’m Klinger? But I don’t think I’m
looking for a Section 8…. You know who I am? Hot Lips Hoolihan.”
Entertain that thought for a second, ‘NCIS’ fans.
One
‘NCIS’ Vet Re-Signs, Three Still In Limbo
Weatherly said that if he and the show do strike a deal, he may not
immediately get wind of it since his attorney who handles such matters
just became a first-time dad.
“But the good news is that now that he’s had a baby, he’ll know how
to deal with me better,” Weatherly says with a wink. “That’s all actors
are – a bunch of crying babies.”
David McCallum earlier this week extended his ‘NCIS’ run beyond the current season,
while Weatherly, Sean Murray and Pauley Perrette still are in
talks to return in the fall.
Coming next week: Our full Q&A with Michael
Weatherly, in which he clears something up about Tony and Ziva’s Paris
sleeping arrangements and teases the bejesus out of the season finale.

‘NCIS’ Update: Who’s Still Unsigned For
Season 8?
by Matt Webb Mitovich
Jun 5th, 2010 | 8:20 AM | Comments 12
Fans of CBS’ ‘NCIS‘ can find some solace in the fact that one less
cast member is in limbo for Season 8, premiering this fall.
As recently as a month ago, four series regulars – Michael Weatherly (who plays Tony), Pauley Perrette (Abby), Sean Murray (McGee) and David McCallum (Ducky) – had not been signed beyond
the just-wrapped Season 7. Mark Harmon (Gibbs), Cote de Pablo (Ziva)
and Rocky Carroll (Vance) already had deals in place for Season 8.
Report:
Four ‘NCIS’ Stars In Salary Standoff
McCallum was the first to ink a new deal, and now EW.com is reporting that Perrette is sticking
around via a new, multi-year contract with TV’s most-watched scripted
series.
That leaves Weatherly and Murray as the remaining “question marks.”
The former told Fancast in early May that he was “very optimistic” about reaching a
new deal.
