Premiere episode of this season was tonight. All about family. I love watching Gibbs and his father together and am glad they seem to be getting their act together.

Re: NCIS
Did you notice how much weight McGee has lost since last season ? Also Ziva seems to have become more "Americanized", in ways that I can't exactly explain yet but may have more examples later.

Re: NCIS
I have. I hope he's not sick. I doubt that he is but that leaves the other unappealing choice that he felt pressured to do it because he's on tv. I thought timothy's rolypoliness was part of his charm. I actually thought DeNozza's riding him about being in Canada seemed a bit forced this time....just not as well written...or played as the banter has been in the past.
Zivah...I think it's the hair.
Still love the show and all who sail on her.

"Zivah...I think it's the hair." that could be part of it but I was thinking more about her speech patterns and how she was more "hip" to American slang.

Yes, she used "lying through my teeth" correctly...I'll miss the humor of the mistakes. But she's a smart girl, so she would have mastered the idioms by now.

Rocky Carroll: ‘NCIS’ Will Soon Spill More Of Vance’s Secrets
by Matt Webb Mitovich
Oct 11th, 2010 | 8:06 PM | Comments 12
To hear Rocky Carroll tell it, CBS’ ‘NCIS‘ (Tuesdays at 8/7c) has only scratched the surface when it comes to sharing what you need to know about Director Leon Vance. The good news is that a significant intel download is coming your way, with thanks to the return of a major guest star. Carroll spoke with Fancast about the NCIS team’s performance against some new, singing-and-dancing foes, the big reveal on the horizon, and why retaining a little mystery in NCISland is never a bad thing. What’s the chatter in the ‘NCIS’ hallways? Do you think you’re faring well against the stiffer competition – ‘Glee’ included?
I think for a warhorse we’re doing OK. We’re holding our own just fine. [Most recently, 'NCIS' dominated Tuesday night with 19.5 million total viewers, and it remains TV's most watched scripted series.] When everybody from the producers to the camera assistants is walking around with a copy of the Nielsens, you must be doing OK.How much of Vance can we expect to see in the coming weeks? This Tuesday, an American petty officer is found dead on a British ship….
I do figure into that one, yeah – “Royals & Loyals.” Vance will be making his presence felt this week, for sure. And right now we’re filming a November sweeps episode where Michael Nouri returns as Eli David, Ziva’s father. He and I have a history, a past, and we’re going to delve into that and how it affects present-day affairs and Ziva’s relationship with her dad. We touched on that once before – when Ziva was triumphantly rescued by Gibbs and brought back into NCIS, it introduced the issue that all this was done against her father’s will.Whenever Eli David resurfaces, we always have to wonder what fresh hell he will bring.
Absolutely. And that’s true to form this season, that’s for sure!
Ratings: ‘NCIS: LA’ Begins To Trip Up ‘DWTS’‘NCIS: LA‘ could at some point benefit from a character like Eli David – a bad penny that keeps popping up.
Yes. But they’re doing great regardless. CBS just has an amazing track record. Maybe it’s because I’ve been acting for 20 years, but I’m not one to wake up and immediately click on the overnights. You just enjoy it while the time is good, because today’s hit is tomorrows “Where are they now?” but look at the shows that are in the Top 20, and it’s amazing how CBS dominates.Right. Besides the ‘NCIS’ shows, ‘The Mentalist’ tops Thursday night, ‘Blue Bloods’ and ‘Hawaii Five-0′ are off to very strong starts…. No clinkers.
And people have been trumpeting the death of the sitcom, but ‘Mike & Molly’ has done very well.Does ‘NCIS: LA’ have any imminent plans for you?
I haven’t had to “hop a plane to L.A.’” just yet. Every once in a while I’ll talk to ['NCIS' boss] Shane [Brennan] and in classic fashion, he’ll give me a wink and say, “I’ve got something up my sleeve.” I’ll be popping back on the ‘LA’ scene by Episode 10.
Big Tease: Scoop On ‘Grey’s,’ ‘NCIS,’ ‘Parenthood,’ ‘Big Bang’ and More! You of course boast great comedy chops. Will we ever find a way to let them shine on ‘NCIS’? Maybe a “buddy adventure” for Vance and Gibbs?
Well, nothing is out of the realm of possibility on ‘NCIS.’ What I think – and I even s aid this to Jesse Stern, one of our writer-producers who was really responsible for creating the character of Vance – is that the big thing for the first couple of seasons was, “Where does this character fit in? Is he a good guy, a bad guy?” And I think we’ve answered those questions to a certain level. Now we can venture out a bit. The great thing about this show is that after eight seasons, you pretty much know what makes all the main characters tick, but Vance is still a bit of a mystery. And that was a great element to add to the show. You had this guy who was a bit of an X factor, and he actually sits in a seat of power. And we never got quite to the bottom of the letter he shredded in the Season 5 finale, did we?
No, we didn’t. Some of that’s going to be answered in the two-parter with Michael Nouri, as we start to unveil and peel back more and more about Vance. Like I said to Jesse Stern, the great thing about playing this character is the mystery. If we ever lose that, we lose a lot.

‘NCIS’ Scoop: Ziva’s Wildest Undercover Assignment Ever?
by Matt Webb Mitovich
Oct 13th, 2010 | 3:13 PM | Comments 2
If you caught the promo for the Oct. 19 ‘NCIS‘ at the close of this week’s episode, what you may have taken away from it is that 1) a radio DJ is involved, 2) Tony (played by Michael Weatherly) comically tails some suburban joggers in the name of chasing a lead, and 3) something explodes.Oh, but wait, there is more.
Watch Full ‘NCIS’ Episodes HereIn the episode “Dead Air,” the NCIS team’s investigation will require Ziva (Cote de Pablo) to disappear undercover as – wait for it – herself.“She’ll have to be the old Ziva – a Mossad Liaison – to make her way into a group of suspected domestic terrorists,” a source tells Fancast.Sounds pretty cool, right? Ziva channeling her relatively badder-ass former self?
Rocky Carroll: ‘NCIS’ Will Soon Spill More Of Vance’s SecretsNow, while this next part isn’t part of the exclusive news, I will also seize the opportunity to note that the Oct. 19 ‘NCIS’ features a guest-starring turn by Nadia Bjorlin (’Days of Our Lives’), the preternaturally gorgeous soap siren whom many of you would like to see play TVs new incarnation of Wonder Woman. And as much as I am on Team Sarah Lancaster, "
[ ‘Wonder Woman’ TV Redo Is In The Works: Who Would You Cast?Speaking of women who kick butt, you have my vote to play TV’s new ‘Wonder Woman’ [being developed by Warner Bros. and David E. Kelley].
Aww, you’re very sweet! But Sarah Lancaster is engaged with ‘Chuck’ until she’s not engaged with ‘Chuck,’ so… That’s nice of you to say. So far it’s just you and my grandmother. And me too !]
Would you have any tools to bring to that role? Do you have skills?
Do I have any tools, do I have any skills…? I work out, and I’m a pretty athletic individual. I don’t know how I am with the lasso and stuff, so I’d have to work on that!
I can’t argue with Nadia wielding a golden lasso, either.

Re: NCIS
Forget Nadia...I'd take Pauley Perette or Cote de Pablo for Wonder Woman.
I saw a moment on this week's show that didn't gibe with me. Gibb's needed the ship not to leave so he did something that made that happen. When Tony comments that it was lucky for them, Gibbs pulls out a wrench and says luck had nothing to do with it.
Now I believe that Gibbs would take the action he did, but I don't think he would brag about it. It would have just been more believable if Tony had seen the wrench in Gibbs' back pocket or something (and then have recognition dawn on Tony's face. )

Re: NCIS
He does something with one wrench to disable a large ship ? Short of smashing some electronics I don't see that happening ...
I don't know if I've ever seen a pic of Nadia, but Sarah Montgomery would be my choice. The actress does have to be rather tall to fit the WW image which rules out my other obvious choice.
Hmmmm....after looking at some pics of Nadia, she certainly deserves to graduate from soap operas but she is too exotic looking and dark-complected to play WW. WW needs to be an Anglo/corn fed/Midwestern type to fit the "classic" image...

Re: NCIS
They might have said the same of Katee Sackhoff playing Starbuck in Battlestar Gallactica...not "manly" enough. But she did a great job of re-inventing the role. Just saying that I don't think they need to go with a "classic" look to make a fresh version for today.
But as to NCIS...very interesting, the Israelis' are back in town. Why is Ziva's Dad such a jerk. He owes her an apology and it wouldn't kill him to give it.

Re: NCIS
Wow, Tony changed his whole persona and no one could figure out why. Fortunately, he was back to normal by the ending credits.
How adorable is Abby doing the Turkey Trot? I could easily go with less time devoted to the story and more time just hanging out in Abby's Lab.
Gibbs commenting on Facebook: Is that that thing that some people do something with?
and now Ducky, who has a Facebook account can't focus on the work because of all the racy photos ladies are inundating him with!!
I love this show.

I missed it ! Sounds good. Have to catch the repeat.
At that time I was watching The Third Reich:The Rise, on the History Channel. A compendium of home movies and other amateur film maker's footage from the 30's. Most of it never seen before and what a chilling 'behind the scenes' look it was ! Tonight is the second part, The Fall, and my new DVR will come in handy because Modern Family gets priority.

Security Guard Killed in Freak Accident on ‘NCIS’ Set
by Molly Willow
Feb 9th, 2011 | 8:02 PM | Comments 0
Production on “NCIS” has been suspended following a fatal freak accident.
A 52-year-old male security guard on the set of the hit CBS naval
drama was struck Wednesday morning when a van driver lost control of his
vehicle. The guard later died of his injuries after being rushed to a
nearby hospital. His identity has not yet been released.
“Everyone at the network, the studio and ‘NCIS’ is devastated by the news,” read a statement
from CBS Television Studios and CBS Entertainment. “Our hearts grieve
for his family and friends for this tragic loss. We are, of course,
cooperating with the local authorities in Santa Clarita to help
determine what caused this terrible accident.”
No more information has been released on the length of the production suspension.
Some early reports said the crash happened on the set of the spin-off “NCIS: Los Angeles.” Both shows film in the LA area.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Konecny said the van had just dropped off
passengers when the driver, 60, suffered an unspecified medical
emergency while behind the wheel and accelerated suddenly, hitting the
guard, The Huffington Post reported.
The cast, crew and producers also released a joint statement saying,
“With profound sympathy we mourn the tragic passing of our co-worker
and friend.” They also added, “NCIS is a family. And, as with any
family, we are deeply saddened by this unexpected loss. Our thoughts and
prayers go out to his loved ones.”
“NCIS” was recently renewed for a ninth season and is consistently a Top 10 show.

I see lots of people online complaining about the new cast members. it's selfish of me, I suppose...but I am so happy to have Alimi Ballard added to the cast of NCIS. He was so nice to Megan and I when we had a set visit to Numb3rs. I missed him and I am really going to enjoy him being the snarky one who likes to mess with Tony.

Re: NCIS
Great pic ! Tony's new girl friend is a good addition too, and having to sneak around avoiding Gibbs adds an "element". In real life I would be surprised if HR rules would allow such a relationship in a govt. agency where life and death situations may arise.....or I could be wrong....
