Not far away now ! clap And casting Hayden is a good move. He will do well on the physical comps., he was constantly pumping iron on BB and his social skills won him the $500 K.

'Big Brother' Winner to Compete on 'Survivor: Blood vs. Water'

Survivor: Blood vs. Water, airing this fall, will hit a little close to home for the castaways. Instead of having to wait many days for the chance to make it to the Loved Ones Visit, the loved ones will be on the island the entire time as returning contestants will be competing against their own family.

One of those family members has now been revealed, and it is none other than Big Brother season 12 winner Hayden Moss, whose girlfriend is Kat Edorsson, who you may remember from Survivor: One World.
CBS Sets Fall 2013 Premiere Dates >>>

Since both have experience on reality competition shows, they were asked which is harder in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Hayden said, "I will answer that question exactly in about 39 days. ... Really, I'll be the only person ever that can answer that question. So I'm excited to test it out and see what Survivor is all about."

"The games are similar," he went on to say, "But at the end of the day, it's two totally different games. I think Survivor is going to be way tougher, physically. Big Brother you can say is mentally harder, because you're there longer, you're on lock-down, you have zero contact to anybody ... you don't see anything." Realistically, you could pinpoint these onto Survivor as well, so the mental aspect very much applies to both and not just one.

When asked if he'll be a bigger target since he's a BB winner, he said, "I think I'll be a target early. If not early, then mid-game because, A, I won Big Brother, and, B, I'm a physical threat. People are going to know I already won an awesome social game. So immediately, they're going to put two and two together and say hey, he's a threat, we should probably take him out."

Kat doesn't agree, saying, "I don't think anyone's going to feel that way. ... Hayden's not just some macho man that's going to take over their season. He's not. He's very humble. He's modest about everything that he does."

Big Brother 15 Spoilers: Was the Power of the Veto Used in Week 8? >>>

Viewers may know him from Big Brother, but what you might not have known is that Hayden was actually in the running to be on Survivor. Host Jeff Probst revealed, "We met with him for Survivor. He made it all the way to our finals. Hayden and I met. We were in the room talking and for whatever reason -- I can't even remember now -- it just didn't work out. either we had somebody like him, I don't know. And the next thing I know, he's on Big Brother! If you had just waited five minutes, we would have put you on Survivor!"

It seems to have worked out because he now gets to appear on both shows and, in the case of Survivor, with his girlfriend, no less -- then again, he may not get to spend much time with her as he'll be on the opposing tribe at first.

Hayden is not technically related to Kat -- at least not yet -- but you can't blame CBS for finding a way to cross-promote their shows. They've done it before when Survivor and Big Brother alums appeared on The Amazing Race.

Are you excited that Hayden will be competing on Survivor? And if you watched him win the grand prize on Big Brother, do you think he'll be able to use that to his advantage on the island?

Survivor: Blood vs. Water kicks off with a 90-minute premiere on Wednesday, September 18 at 8pm on CBS.

Will Hayden's 'Big Brother' experience help or hurt him on 'Survivor'?
Help: He'll excel at the social elements.
Help: He'll use his physical strength to win.
Hurt: 'Survivor' is way tougher than 'Big Brother'
Hurt: The others will try to get rid of him.
I'll wait for the show to start to make a call.

‘Survivor’ Host Jeff Probst Explains the Many ‘Blood vs. Water’ Twists

by Gordon Holmes | August 21, 2013 at 8:01 AM | General, Survivor, TV News

Thirteen years ago, a group of sixteen Americans traveled to a distant land to play a simple game. Every three days they’d get together to vote someone away, then the last two people standing would face a jury of their peers. That jury would award a million dollars to the person who they felt was the most deserving.

This ain’t that game.

Oh sure, someone will still be awarded a million dollars by a jury of their peers, but the path to get there will be different than any other version in the show’s history.

To get some clarity on all of these crazy twists, I voyaged to the  jungles of the Philippines and hunted down host Jeff Probst. Once I had him trapped, I forced him to shed some light on what has the potential to be the most unpredictable season of “Survivor” ever…

Quick Note: I had a chance to sit down with all twenty of this season’s competitors in the days before the game began. Starting Tuesday, September 3rd I’ll be posting exclusive interviews with each pairing. Be sure to follow me on Twitter (@gordonholmes) for those interviews, behind-the-scenes exclusives, and more…

What Is Day Zero?
For the first time since “Survivor: The Australian Outback,” the game will last longer than 39 days. The night before the game starts, players will be paired with their loved ones and left in various places around the jungle. Jeff Probst clarified that this was all Mark Burnett’s idea, “Start the game the night before. Let them get dirty. Let them feel what it’s like, now you’ve got a taste of it. Now you vote them out…”

Wait…Vote Them Out?
When the pairs arrive on the beach, they’ll immediately be split into tribes and forced to vote someone off. No talking, no strategizing, no alliance forming, just voting. However, the two people who are voted off aren’t sent directly to Redemption Island. Their loved one will have the opportunity to take their place. Why was this done? Jeff Probst explained, “The producers thought it was very important to brand Redemption Island right out of the gate.” This new twist will accomplish this as the second episode will kick off with a three-way duel between the first two eliminated players and the person who is voted out during the first Tribal Council. The first two people to complete the challenge get to stay. The third person has some buff burning to do.

The Return of Redemption Island
Why did “Survivor” bring back one of their most polarizing twists ever? “One of the reasons that those of us who like Redemption Island like it so much is it keeps great characters in the game a little longer,” Probst said. “That’s what you want, you want your best characters on screen. It’s like the loser’s bracket, but they’re still playing. I don’t have any issues with the second chance, I don’t come from that world. I get it, some people think when you’re out, you’re out. That’s a fair argument, I just don’t agree with it. I grew up playing sandlot baseball. I liked the loser’s bracket. You still get to play on Sunday. It made sense this time because we’ve got returning players, so we’re going to keep some of them longer.”

The Ol’ Redemption Island Wife Swap
Redemption Island isn’t immune from the mega-twist treatment either. Now players who are still in the game will have an opportunity to take their loved one’s place before the duel. Probst hypothesized, “At each duel you’ll get the chance to take (your loved one’s) spot. So, as we get closer to the merge, maybe I decide I can win two duels. My wife hasn’t been eating, she isn’t doing too well. I’m going to put her back in the game and take myself out. Everybody’s going to be there. Everyone is going to see your decision. You’ve got to do it in front of everyone. You’ll get a minute to come down and talk it out with your loved one. What’s the vibe, where are you at? And then suddenly that person who was just about to fight for their life? They get to put the buff back on and they’re safe and their partner is down there in a duel. Somebody’s going to make that move at Redemption Island and it’s going to be exciting.”

And Those Pesky Immunity Idols?
“This year, we have a twist with the hidden immunity where we’re going to hide them so they’ll require a clue,” Probst revealed. “But, the clue will be given out by the winner at Redemption Island. So, now you have another layer where at Redemption Island I’m fighting for my life, and if I win I’m in charge of who gets the clue. I can give it to anyone I want on either tribe. Will I try to win favor back? Will I give it to my spouse? A lot of strategy because the person who is giving the clue wants back into the game. And the clue is currency. I’ve got to get something for it.”

Don’t miss the special 90-minute premiere of “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 8 p.m. ET.

They've brought back some pretty good and popular players, Rupert Boneham for one, and a couple of duds.....but all in all an interesting group.

Ordinarily a story like this may make you think that the Survivor publicity dept. is responsible, with the new season coming up. But I seriously doubt it in this case because they have always distanced themselves from Hatch ever since he served time for tax evasion. Plus his penchant for nudity which they had to blur out several times in his season. Incidentally he has really aged in that picture.

http://xfinity.comcast.net/blogs/tv/2013/09/09/survivor-richard-hatch-may-have-fathered-as-many-as-200-kids/

The winner of season two, Tina Wesson, will be back this season with her grown daughter who must have been a toddler, or maybe not born yet when Tina won. She was a very popular winner and deserving of the million.

It looks like an interesting premise, I've watched every minute of every show since day 1. The main problem with Survivor though from a fan standpoint is that the whole season is in the can before the first show airs. This makes it impossible to comment on or speculate or even root for anyone. At least this season all BB fans are obligated to root for Hayden, and his girl friend looks worthy too. two thumbs up  But, we just sit and watch, chips and beer at the ready. Isn't that the American Way ?......roflmao

Big Brother 15 HG Reveals Survivor 2013 Spoilers

Elissa Slater leaked Survivor spoilers

Big Brother 15 HG Elissa Slater leaked new Survivor 2013 spoilers today on the BB15 Live Feeds which air around the clock coverage for CBS’s reality series.

The spoilers include information on two members of the Survivor Blood Vs. Water cast, so if you’d prefer not to hear details revealing possible final four information then turn away now. Otherwise, read on for more info.

Elissa, in a conversation this morning with Judd Daugherty, another Big Brother houseguest, announced that former Big Brother HG and season 12 winner Hayden Moss had survived to the Final Four this season on Survivor.

Slater also revealed that as in her previous season, Kat Edorsson was voted off early again this time around.

Big Brother viewers can Flashback on their Live Feeds to 8/27 at 11:22AM BBT on Cameras 1&2 to hear Elissa make the spoiler statements.

Survivor 27 allegedly filmed back in May and June 2013 while BB15 HGs entered sequester in mid-June. It is possible that she learned the information before entering the game and these are valid spoilers. It’s also possible that Elissa is either confused, was mislead, or just plain making it up.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens when Survivor Blood Vs Water debuts on CBS on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 8PM for a 90-minute premiere event.

The twist with returning players on one team and their 'loved ones' on the other seems to have introduced a peculiar 'vibe' into the game. Last night they booted the niece from the losing 'loved ones' tribe because her uncle on the returning players tribe (returning from his season 13 years ago) celebrated too enthusiastically when his tribe won the immunity idol.

Also, the immediate voting out of Rupert's wife, causing him to 'sacrifice' himself and go to Redemption Island in her place, allowing her to remain with her 'loved ones' tribe, seemed a little too contrived to me, as if they couldn't just let them play the game from day one without 'spicing it up'. scratch

So now Rupert, the niece, and the ex-NFL player's wife are all on Redemption Island while we wait until next week to see who can battle back to their tribe. Meanwhile the nieces' uncle was so physically incompetent in the first immunity challenge that it will be a miracle if he lasts past next week.

'Survivor: Blood vs. Water' Premiere Recap: Family Feuds
Wednesday, September 18, 2013

Gina Pusateri
Contributing Writer, BuddyTV

It's the 27th season of Survivor, and this premiere marks the 400th episode. Boy, it seems like only yesterday when we were watching Richard Hatch get naked and Sue Hawk deliver her infamous final tribal council speech. Time flies when you're enjoying the the best (if you ask me) competition based reality show on TV.

Honeymoon's Over

The 10 veteran players arrive in the Philippines, where the last two seasons have also been filmed, with their loved ones that they don't yet know they will be competing against on separate tribes. Gervase is playing with his niece Marissa, who was only nine when he was on the first season of Survivor.

Kat from Survivor: One World is determined to beat her boyfriend Hayden (a previous winner of Big Brother). Rupert, fourth time player, however, is worried that he might at some point have to write his wife's name down.

The 10 pairs of survivors are brought to different locations on the island to spend the first night with just each other as a "welcome" experience onto the show. But then they meet Jeff Probst at sunrise the next morning where things get serious.

Jeff drops the first bomb, telling the contestants that they won't be competing with their loved ones but against them. He asks Brad Culpepper, Monica's wife and former NFL player if that affects the way he will approach the game. Caught off guard, he says it definitely affects him because it may make him want to give up a reward, like a tarp, so he can make sure his wife is okay. Obviously, that ruffles his new tribe members' feathers, especially Marissa, who is having absolutely none of that nonsense.

Then, Jeff tells them that each of the tribes, Galang (the vets) and Tadhana (the newbies) has to vote off a member right then and there.

Everyone is rightfully ticked about this impromptu beach tribal council that is happening before anyone can even start playing the game, including yours truly. I think this really put a damper on the celebration that usually is the first episode and the normal elation I personally get watching.

The rookies unanimously voted out Laura, Rupert's wife. Rupert feels relieved because now he knows he won't ever have to vote for her, but sad because he can't protect her. The votes on the vets side are split between Candice and Laura M. (I have seen every single episode of Survivor, and I can honestly say that I have no idea who this is, ( ditto) but in the end Candice gets more votes.

But wait, another twist! Remember that old pesky friend Redemption Island that Survivor tried out for a few seasons but then got rid of because it was kind of a headache? Well it's back. Now the people who get voted off, starting with Laura and Candice, will have another chance at getting back in the game based on duel competitions each week.

BUT WAIT, ANOTHER TWIST! Jeff tells the loved ones of the people just voted out, that they can take the place of the people just sent to Redemption Island. Of course Rupert immediately volunteers, before Jeff even finishes his sentence and so Laura re-joins the game on the veterans tribe. Candice's husband, John, however, elects to keep playing the game and urges Candice to beat Rupert on Redemption Island.

Phew. This was as complicated a beginning to a season that I've ever seen.

Galang

Laura knows what a big target she has on her back as soon as she gets to camp because she is the only rookie on the veteran tribe. Not only that, but a lot of the vets are irritated that they aren't getting a chance to play with Rupert, but instead have to settle for his wife.

Tyson immediately starts a fire with a little help from Kat and they are all very productive about making the shelter.

Monica, who played with Colton before on Survivor: One World, is obviously already wary of his shady-ass presence, though he swears he's changed since last season. He says he was playing the first time around with "a mask to hide his own insecurities." He breaks down as they're all talking around the fire about how hard it's been for him being gay in the Deep South. It all might be very moving if it wasn't coming from Colton, who as we saw was one of the most mean-spirited, awful people to play the game. Monica's not sure if she's buying it either.

On the one hand we can almost feel sorry for Colton and his obvious personality problems, on the other hand he may be an out-and-out sociopath.

Tadhana

Almost right away, Brad calls his tribe together to make it clear to them that he is "all in" with his tribe, unlike his previous on-the-spot answer would indicate. He also wastes no time at all establishing himself as the alpha male on the tribe and his first order of business is to start up a five-man alliance with him, John, Hayden, Vytas (Aras's brother), and Caleb (Colton's fiance).

All of the men smile and go along with it, but make it clear that they don't have any problem sticking with a different agenda if need-be. Especially Vytas who wants to stay close with the women in his tribe as well.

Vytas and Ciera open up to Brad about their troubled pasts. Ciera, Laura M.'s daughter, talks about being a teen mom and how it was really hard on her family, but how they've grown so much because of it. Vytas talks about his struggles with addiction as a young adult and how it even landed him in prison. He still thinks he and his brother's relationship is rocky to this day because of it, and he hopes playing the game will bring them closer together.

Redemption Island

Candice's feelings are hurt (awww) about being the first one on her tribe sent to RI. She's also irritated at Rupert who has decided to do absolutely none of the work around camp.

Rupert's reasoning for his laziness is that he's never won an individual immunity challenge in the past because he was too busy busting his ass around camp, a mistake that he has no intention of repeating when it comes to saving his energy to beat Candice.

Immunity Challenge

For the first immunity challenge, the contestants have to go through a series of obstacles in the water to reach a row boat. Once they reach the boat, they have to untie the knots so they can paddle the boat, and the puzzle pieces inside of it, back to shore. On the shore, three designated puzzle makers have to construct a wheel to raise the flag of their tribe to win immunity.

Tadhana is off to a quick start working really well together as a team. That and the fact that Gervase looks like a dead fish in the water, and has to ask Aras to help him swim when he's too exhausted to continue.

Tadhana's extends their lead when the vets on Galang can't figure out how to steer the oars on their boat. Colton screams viciously at Kat, like the whole thing is her fault. It was an ugly moment from Colton, and I'm sure there are many more to come.

But things quickly even up at the puzzle where Tina, Monica and Laura M. are working against Katie (Tina's daughter), Caleb and Ciera. In the end, the veterans' experience on the puzzle pays off and Galang wins immunity.

The veterans are excited to win, especially Gervase, who was extremely vocal in his smack-talking, especially considering the fact that he had just floundered all over that challenge. Colton, however, gets emotional at the thought of his fiance Caleb being in danger of going home.

Loser Camp

No one is disgusted more at Gervase's behavior at the challenge than his niece Marissa. She says to her tribe, "a lion shouldn't roar after he's eaten his prey." But the tribe members, especially Brad, are hung up on Gervase's "sore-winning" and they can't stop whining about it. I hate to break it to you guys, but it doesn't change the fact that you lost.

Katie and Ciera are both worried that they might go home tonight because they were on the puzzle team that lost them the challenge.

Brad meets with the five-man alliance and they all agree that it, obviously, has to be a girl that goes home, and that it's probably between Katie and Marissa. You see, Brad really wants to stick it to Gervase by voting off his loved one.

Tribal Council

Hayden says the hardest thing about being on the show so far has been living without fire. Ciera agrees, and says despite what her mom told her, she never thought she'd be so hungry in her life.

John is still struggling with his decision to let Candice compete on RI. He says he's feeling a lot of guilt about it, and hopes that he didn't let her down.

Of course Brad brings up Gervase's behavior at the challenge and how it reflects poorly on his loved one, Marissa. Marissa pleads to her tribe that they judge her based on her actions and her character, not her uncle's.

Unfortunately, they do just the opposite and vote Marissa out. She stops to give them the death glare on the way out, and not a single one of them can meet her gaze.

So now with Candice and John (spouses) both relegated to Redemption Island they must battle each week to evict the third interloper from the tribal council eviction. If one of them should be evicted from RI leaving the other to morn and grieve, we will be devastated. No Meanwhile last week Colson self-evicts, the second time he's done this, the first time when he was on a previous season. He obviously has mental stability problems and you wonder why the producers would recast him. Suspect

Now that we're close enough to the end to make some reasonable guesses, I agree that Tyson has the best shot at winning the $1 mill. But, I would rather see Ciera win, or failing that , then Hayden even though he's already won $500 k on Big Brother.

So Tyson won as expected. Votes 7-1 for him, Monica got the 1, Gervase didn't get any. Tina took fourth.  She won the million in season two so it wasn't expected she would get it again even if she had made it to the Final Three.  One sad thing was that her teenage or 20-something son had been killed in a car wreck just two weeks before last night's finale, the live show from LA. But she said he had looked forward to coming with her so it seemed right for her to come anyway.

Another interesting thing is that Cochran who won last season in May was in the audience and Jeff had him tell that he had graduated from Harvard Law School but didn't really feel like becoming a lawyer and felt that writing was more to his liking. Someone at CBS found out and now he's writing for The Millers !

Next season starts in February . clap The "Three B's" is the theme; Beauty, Brawn, and Brains. Which implies that they will cast actors/athletes/scientists, but who ? Because of the extreme physical hardships of the show any reasonably well known actors/actresses wouldn't do it. There have been retired athletes that have done it, even Jimmy Johnson from the Dallas Cowboys, but they usually don't last too long because the other players are scared of them and vote them out early.
