Re: Syfy announces dates for Spring Shows
For some reason I had thought that Rutger Hauer had died, glad to see that he hasn't ......
SyFys' fictional shows are all pretty good. Their 'reality shows', for lack of a better term, are a waste of time, ditto the various 'ghost hunter' shows. Who watches those ?.....

Re: Syfy announces dates for Spring Shows
Those 5 all sound pretty good. I'm not sure they need to "woo back" viewers, did Battlestar fans abandon SyFy when that series ended ? Maybe some did, but W13, and Being Human were long running, successful shows, and Defiance is still doing well. Helix isn't as good as The Strain, but it's coming back.
But if they increase their budgets and can compete on a more equal footing with AMC/Fox/
FX. etc. and avoid obvious "cheap tricks" like a lot of green screen, then they should be good with these new shows. Trying to compete with HBO aside from the budget factor will be hard because of the censorship aspect that SyFy must deal with, but that doesn't mean that sex/blood/gore must be entirely avoided.
