I will watch the live feeds tomorrow morning and will have my critique of the HGs shortly thereafter, which of course the whole world is anxiously awaiting.....

This is possible, hard to say at this point. But the bootee would have to be someone who is "unpopular" both with the HGs and the viewers, which would be hard to "accomplish" in so short a time, although sometimes an HG pops up with those "qualities" so quickly that it's a no-brainer....but we'll see.....

It looks more 'stylish' than some of the goofy decors in past seasons.

Re: Big Brother 17 new thread for start of season
So the new rumor is that two contestants from a recent Amazing Race will join the HGs , making the full 16. Looks like one of them won't be Laura Pierson, that would be really great for her fan boys, but it looks like it will be a couple from an earlier season.

Re: Big Brother 17 new thread for start of season
So only 8 HGs came in last night, presumably the other 6 tonight but that leaves two more rumored HGs to appear.
http://bigbrothernetwork.com/big-brother-17-premiere-recap-2015-06-24/
The "twin twist" is interesting. Can even supposed identical twins pull it off ? There are always small diffs. that would tip off the twist to the other HGs. But if the twin swapping survives undetected for the first 5 evictions, then both twins get to come into the house and play out the rest of the season (or until they get booted) together.
http://bigbrothernetwork.com/big-brother-17-twin-twist-can-they-pull-it-off/
But the "hillbilly Asian" wins the first HOH, a literal photo finish. Way to go !

Re: Big Brother 17 new thread for start of season
So Jeff and Jackie from the most recent season of The Amazing Race are the 15 th and 16th HGs. She was very bossy and domineering on TAR, that's a good way to get booted early on BB. Too bad it couldn't have been Laura, but since she won the million on TAR I guess they figured it wouldn't be fair to give her a shot at another $500 K so soon, or maybe she wouldn't have wanted to do BB anyway...
Julie Chen promises us that the first BB Takeover is coming and new HGs will join the eight from last night.
Meet the Rest of the New HGs
It's time to see more new HGs get their keys.
Liz: She's a bubbly Florida girl without a filter. She's threatened by jealous girls. Ugh.
Jason: He's a gay grocery store cashier with an awesome Boston-style accent. He lives in his mom's basement and he watches the live feeds every summer.
Vanessa: She's a pro poker player with over $4.5 million in winnings. She also studied game theory at Duke and dropped out of law school to go pro. She was married to a guy but is now dating a woman.
John: He's a "rock star dentist" who is kind of loud and crazy. He's only in dentistry for the money and he has bad luck with relationships because most girls are gold diggers.
Becky: She's an outdoorsy girl from Denver who loves hiking.
Steve: He's a nerd who loves music and a huge Big Brother fanatic. When he was in the fourth grade and had to draw what he wanted to be when he grows up, he drew himself with a key to the house.
John hates superfans (even though he kind of is one) and Jason hates basic bitches. I am so smitten with Jason.
The Second Group Moves In
Julie tells them that some people have already moved in and they know about the two twists, so she tells them about the BoB and BB Takeover.
Liz, Becky and Steve go in first. They're greeted by the first eight. Steve is so awkward and bad at remembering names. Liz already wants to steal Clay from Shelli. Jace calls Colorado "Rado" and Becky hates it.
Austin thinks that he's Seabiscuit and Jason is his jockey. Jason is too much. And John is every bit as excited. Vanessa immediately asks Audrey who the first HoH is because she wants info. She's a hardcore gamer.
Next they sit at the dining room table to get to know each other. Da'Vonne thinks John is lying about being a dentist, which is hilarious since she's lying about her job. Liz is single and Jace is into her. Clay thinks Steve is Ian Terry's twin, so he's keeping an eye on him. Vanessa says she's just a DJ. That makes four people sort of lying about who they are.
Da'Vonne wants to pick up Jason and put him in her pocket because he's so cute. Audrey makes her reveal again and the six new HGs are just as accepting as the original group. James thinks all the new women are "smoke bombs." Jace brings up that there are still two empty seats. John's DR sessions are already hurting my eardrums. We've got ourselves a shouter.
BB Takeover: The Amazing Race Host Phil Keoghan
GET READY FOR A TAKEOVER! In a bit of CBS synergy, The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan joins Julie on the stage to take over the game. Phil says that since people like Jeff and Jordan and Brenchel went from Big Brother to TAR, now it's time to go the other way. He's bringing two TAR contestants from last season, blind daters Jeff and Jackie, into the house to play the game.
Jeff and Jackie: We see clips from TAR where Jeff and Jackie are kind of dull, loud, aggressive people. I watched their season and don't remember them at all.
Now they're good friends, but not passionate. The 14 HGs inside the house get called to the living room and see Phil. He tells them about Jeff and Jackie entering the house. Steve knows their pre-existing relationship makes them easy first targets. Jace is into Jackie and he's happy she's no dating Jeff. I'm just confusing by the fact that six of the 16 HGs have names that start with a "J," including five guys. Austin, Clay and Steve must feel like outsiders.
The Second HoH Competition
It's time for someone to join James as the second HoH. Like Da'Vonne did last night, someone must sit out as only seven will compete. Vanessa volunteers to sit out, hoping it will give her an edge because she's a gambler. Everyone promises not to nominate either of the two who sat out.
The competition is from the UFOh No movie that got bad reviews last night. Shouldn't this have been the first competition since they're in the film? The HGs must hold onto a stake as a UFO tries to suck them up. If they let go and get sucked up by an alien, they're out.
Steve wants to finish in the middle but Jason wants to win so the alpha males will approach him for an alliance. Jason is making the others laugh with his quips and then alien slime is dumped on them.
Steve is out first and he's worried because he knows it makes him an easy target. Jason is very confident and everyone is surprised how good he is. Jeff goes out second so he will look like less of a threat. Then John is eliminated. It's now Jason against three ladies.
Becky goes next. Jackie and Liz slip up a bit, but Jason is solid. Liz goes because she's only holding on with her arms and not her legs. It's Jackie vs. Jason and she's at the top of the pole while Jason is still at the bottom. Jason promises not to put Jackie on the block. She's slipping already, so she accepts and falls.
Jason wins the second HoH!
So the first two HoHs are a Texas boy and the gay guy. That's...exactly the same as last season. Weird, right? Da'Vonne is already concerned that two guys are HoHs are they're gonna take out the women like always. I'm just happy because Jason is my pick to win, so let's hope he makes the best of this situation.
The episode ends with Phil giving the HGs a tease about the next part of his Takeover. He tells that that since Da'Vonne and Vanessa sat out, they might be getting a reward.
Big Brother 17 returns Sunday at 8pm with the first nominations and the Battle of the Block. The live feeds start Thursday at 9pm PT, and I'll be back to live blog the first hour or two as we try and figure out what's going on inside the house.

Re: Big Brother 17 new thread for start of season
Results from BotB from yesterday. Now awaiting results of POV comp. today. Looks like Jace will be back doored because he is annoying everyone already. Vanessa has already had a psycho-social meltdown, saying that she "isn't cut out for this game". This occasionally happens but the person usually pulls it together and soldiers on. Except in a few cases where they violate the prod. rules and are booted by production. That's only happened 2-3 times in 16 seasons.
Big Brother Spoilers: Week 1 – Battle Of The Block

More Big Brother spoilers here thanks to the Live Feeds coming through again for us in the first night here with BB17 results rolling in and the drama keeping us busy.
Battle of the Block
Battle of the Block – Source: CBS
We already discovered who went up on the block for the first round of nominations which set us up to find out which pair of noms had escaped the danger and any chance of renom this week. Ready for some spoilers? Read on.
Becky and John, Jason’s nominees, won the first BotB this season so they’re off the block leaving Jackie and Steve behind in the danger zone. That also means Jason has been dethroned and could go up as a renom if that opportunity comes up. Sounds like he doesn’t need to worry about that though.
Current plan is to get some Backdoor going for us and I couldn’t be more pleased. Watch out, Jace. Yep, Jace is the target, but let’s see how that Power of Veto comp works out on Friday.
