The American West...new 8 part series

I've got this one taped but haven't seen it yet.

It's pretty good, they feature different " famous" people each week. Last night was Jesse James and George Custer.  One minor point is that they only mention  the western historical events within the post Civil War era which gives the impression to the historically challenged that nothing else happened out here before then.  For example they cover the "Indian Wars" which took place in Wyo. and OK territories in the 1860's-70's while few if any problems were encountered on the Santa Fe Trail way back in the -20's- 40's and later.

The latest ep featured Billy the Kid and the reason for and start of the Lincoln County Wars.  Some of you have been in the village of Lincoln.  We stopped there for a bathroom break coming back from Roswell.

It would have been great if they could have included this guy's life in the series but 8 episodes just aren't enough to include all the interesting people from that period.
