Blue Bloods season premiere

So Jamie solves the 'married partner' problem by taking the promotion to sgt. which means he won't be in a squad car anymore, But Eddie will have to get a new partner. And Erin gets promoted and realizes that she will be under greater scrutiny for every little decision she makes, but does push back to keep her old office and Anthony as her investigator.

Meanwhile Lou Diamond Phillips is really busy lately. He directed the episode of Fear the Walking Dead that aired last Sunday, and now has a guest spot on Blue Bloods, if only briefly before 'losing his head', as it were.

And....Abigail gets more lines and asserts herself more than usual.

This is shaping up to be a rather intense season judging by next weeks preview. .....btw....the mashed potatoes with Parsley isn't in Bridget's cookbook in spite of Erin saying it was her mother's recipe. I did make another pan of her meatloaf the other day, one of my favorites.

Yes, this was a good episode. I especially liked the authenticity of Edie having her first "family dinner" with Regan family. I remember some doozy's with the Leshnover's while we all got used to each other. Like that I wasn't raised to tighten the lid on salad dressing bottles and Ben's dad had trained his family to do that. So he picked up the bottle, gave it his usual shake, shake, shake...and ended up with french dressing all over his face and shirt. He was about to take his wife to task for her cluelessness but I had to confess...and have lived to tell the tale.

Ah yes , the old 'loose cap' disaster.  That never happened to me in "public" but I occasionally do it  when picking up bottles to put them away after eating.....pickles, salsa, jelly,

Abigail is getting more dialog and screen time this season. Maybe they listened to the fans..?

On Fridays ep her fictional husband is featured as a cop and is injured or something...don't remember the preview. But her real husband is a medic on the NYFD. i wonder what sort of stories he has about 9/11 ?

Wow, I did not know that while story of her relationship with Tom Brady. I imagine that was a pretty awful thing having the papparazzi making the moments of raising a young child uncomfortable for her. Glad they have all moved on to a better time in their lives.

Being one of my favorite actresses, I had followed her career ever since she was on Sex and the City and Coyote Ugly, so I was familiar with the 'Brady incident' all the way through and I have always wondered about Brady's integrity because of it, but high profile people can make mistakes just like anyone else, the difference being everyone hears about it.

In the last ep they didn't even have any food on their plates, yet, in the dinner scene. That was probably a relief, not having to pretend to eat for 4 hours..

I love the actress who plays Eddie/Edite's Mom. She is a famous Broadway actress who I would love to see in a play someday.

She looked familiar but I don't know her name and of course have never seen her in a play, but maybe in another production....?

May10th finale. Doesn't sound like much of a cliff hanger but they might be hiding something.

Bill Sadler plays Eddie's father. He wants to get out of prison temporarily to walk her down the aisle. She hasn't wanted anything to do with him in the past, will she change her mind ? Did Frank pull enough strings to get him out ? We will see this Friday !
