Email from Netflik
Netflik just sent me an email saying that since I have finished watching the latest season of Daredevil I must now decide what to watch next. I'm glad that I'm under such benevolent surveillence and have decided to next watch Narcos Mexico or the Sabrina Witch thing...but I'm not telling them, let them figure it out.....

Sabrina on Netflik
I started watching "The Thrilling Adventures of Sabrina", up to ep 4 already, and it's a lot better than I expected. Based on the Archie Comics I guess, and related to the Riverdale series which I've never watched , but she lives in Greendale which is just down the road I guess. It could be said that the show is somewhat reminiscent of Stranger Things, American Horror Story, and even The Magicians, and although having sort of a comic book vibe isn't juvenile.
Also they throw out oblique references to things that would be right over most kids heads and most adults too if truth be known. For example Sabrina hired a lawyer named Daniel Webster to defend her against charges brought by the "Dark Lord", ie, the Devil. Immediately I thought of this:

Then later she walks down the railroad tracks going to to the 'witches school' to learn how to be a witch, reminiscent of The Magicians, and she is met by a creepy little boy who escorts her through a big stone building with the words on it, "Gehenna Station". So of course I thought of this:

Along about ep 5 it becomes apparent that little kids shouldn't be watching this. But I persist.......

Re: Email from Netflik
I'm not sure I can give a blanket recommendation to watch Sabrina to anyone that might be considering it. Only one more ep to go and so far it's rather dark and delves into Wiccan dogma and mythology to a greater extent than the typical witch show. If you need to see that then go for it. There is good acting and the lead 19 year old does a good job.

Alexis Denisof is joining the cast! Goody. I've been a fan of his since his "Buffy/Angel" days.

I'll be watching that Dec. 15th 'special'. I guess it won't be related to the current series since the season just ended...
