The tweet-a-verse is still lit up with outraged fans over Quentins death. Some demand the writers and showrunners all be fired. But since the showrunners were also the creators that's unlikely. A more worrisome idea, for me, is that Alice is assigned as the head Librarian. I don't like that idea because it might constrain her roles and plot lines. She needs to be free to roam throughout the plots, even though some fans think she is mentally unbalanced, but so what ?.....that's hardly a handicap in that world.

I guess I'm dense but I never perceived Quentin as gay or representing that group in any way. But I did see the suicide possibilities inherent in the plot lines and they addressed that with those 'help line' postings at the end of the eps.

The one thing in his behavior that was a little 'off' , by my judgement, was when Alice ripped off her shirt and jumped on top of him in the '411' ep, and he rejected her advances. I think that scene was supposed to have taken place in the past, but his present sensibilities were alarmed by it.....if that makes sense.....

Of course there is still no rational reason why they had to kill him off. It's not like there were hostile forces or individuals 'out to get him' as on Game of Thrones for example, and as fans say they felt the 'audience contract' was violated. But that also assumes that writers, producers, show runners have an 'audience contract' in mind at all, at any point in a production.
