No word yet on starting date, hopefully in January, as in S1. One of SyFy's best shows.

Re: The Magicians , season 2
On Saturday they ran a Magicians marathon, all 13 eps from S1.
S2, Jan 25.

There were so many commercials for Fantastic Beasts that they have convinced me to go see it next Tuesday.

Trailer for S2.

I've been rewatching S1 on Neflik and am 'spoiled' by lack of commercials. So when S2 starts on SyFY I'll have to DVR it and then watch immediately afterward to get past the commercials.

I'm starting to follow her on Twitter, she'll probably have some things to say when S2 starts. I'd like to follow Olivia Taylor Dudley but so far can't find her on social media. She seems to be a very private person, for an entertainer which is a good thing. What if they were all Kardashians ? Yikes ! Nearly spoiled my dinner !!
Wait a minute, I knew she was on Twitter.....has a tendency to veer into leftist things, but I can overlook that.

Re: The Magicians , season 2
Season 2 review...he got the first four eps.

"But, encouragingly, it’s the women of the cast that garner the most attention. Dudley’s astute and closed-off Alice is one part of The Magicians that actually feels like real-world magic. Although her and Quentin are dealing with a cliché break-up after the events of season 1, Dudley is the real straight-man at the center of the cast’s goofy characters and she carries all of the best scenes of the new season with both a dextrous wit and out-of-nowhere poignancy."

Re: The Magicians , season 2
Here's a 'weird' thing.....when the old wizard, or whatever he is, at the edge of the lake, quizzes Eliot on his qualification to be King of Fillory, one of the answers to the questions was Tim Daly. They obviously didn't know this was coming:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Then Eliot seals the deal by quoting verbatim from "Dirty Dancing" even with a quasi-Patrick Swayze voice......
I hope Olivia/Alice doesn't have to spend all season in that weird dress. What opportunities are there for wardrobe changes in Fillory ?

Not sure what kind of dog this is, but she has a lot of pics of him on her Twitter page.

Most of the cast does a lot of Twitter and Instagram, and keeps us entertained. Stella Maeve doesn't seem to though.

Well.....I can tell you that it's a good thing that Alice is coming back , no matter how "crazy". There has been a fan-boy outcry since last episode and if she's not there, is it worth watching the show anymore ? At least we now get to see Alice "kick butt, and take names".....

Re: The Magicians , season 2
So there are two things that stand out about last night's ep.
First, in the "shower magic" scene (a unique use of magic, I must say ), Olivia/Alice reappears briefly, less than a minute on screen, but nevertheless she had to 'report to work' that day and be on the set. So what... ? ...you ask. Because.....her name didn't appear in the opening credits as if she weren't in the episode at all. This is wrong from all fan boys perspectives !
It's one thing, as on Blue Bloods when Abigail is off giving birth and of course never comes in to work, so her name doesn't appear in the opening credits for those episodes, we can understand that, but the way that The Magicians handles it...? No Way !!
Secondly...Julia makes reference to the "Foo Fighters" several times. What/who this is within the plot lines of the show remains to be seen, assuming it/they are revealed at all, which I assume they will be , otherwise why mention it at all ?
So....most viewers would connect the name to the rock band of the 90's. I know nothing about them and have never knowingly heard their music, so how this apparent play on words might be incorporated into the show is still...
But more to the point the name "Foo Fighters" has nothing to do with the rock band and predates it by many years.

This phenomenon has never been adequately explained with electrical theory but it's generally agreed that it is some sort of static display. On rare occasions it has been observed sitting on top of wooden fence posts in rural areas as glowing balls of 'static' which dissipates when approached.

3 minutes ! Geez ! Got through it ....
Why do these fantasy/supernatural shows think they have to have a 'singing' segment ? Buffy...etc. At least the Magicians didn't do the whole show that way.

Re: The Magicians , season 2
The Flash just did a musical episode that was pretty stellar. Of course, the flash started his career on Glee and they brought another Glee star on to be the villain. The people behind LaLa Land were helping them set it all up. I'm sorry I deleted after watching it. I kind of feel that I could sit thru it a few more times.

One thing for sure.....Chris Hardwick really gets around ! He is the go-to guy for hosting any S-F/fantasy related panels.

Just about everyone's favorite ep from S2. Unique use of the time travel possibilities.
Oops, this should be in the Travelers thread, but you can figure it out I'm sure.
