Ellen Joins American Idol Judges....Season Nine

I am having a hard time imagining this, but she could bring alot of humor to the show....which is needed. I will not miss Paula.....but Ellen is a strange choice for a replacement.

She has been a guest judge at the So You Think You Can Dance program and she takes it seriously. I don't know how far her expertise goes...but she can do that encouraging thing Paula did.

Sorry, Berry, but I didn't like her guest judging on SYTYCD. But then I don't watch AI, so maybe she'll be a good match there.

I agree Ellen is a strange choice. But, I do have to say that I think she'll be a great boost for the entertainment element of the show, as far as the judges are concerned. Having a little humor behind those judging tables may balance out some of the mean things Simon says, and may make us forget how man times Randy says "Dawg" in one eppy. LOL.

But....it will be interesting to watch, considering she doesn't have an extensive musical background like previous judges have had.

I heard Ellen in an interview say that she is going to represent the average music listener....you know, like just give her opinion about how it entertained her and how enjoyable it was......she is not going to pretend to have any expertise in the music industry. She will judge it on entertainment value for the viewer..... I just want to see her beat up on Simon a little!!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
