Re: Dr. Who
Second Eppie aired tonight. Clara got her first taste of the Big Wide Universe. She did well.

Re: Dr. Who
Matt Smith has stated that he will return for "Dr Who" in 2014. Now we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

Re: Dr. Who
(Sigh)
Ok, so BBC1 in simulcast with BBCA will reveal who the next doctor is on Sunday August 4th.
I don't know if this is just to fan the wild fire of tweets, facebook and message board outburst but it does seem to be doing that job. My question is: why would you do this before airing the episode of the Doctor's regeneration to the twelfth doctor? It's a very bad idea. People expect to find out who it is during the episode not several months before the episode airs.
What if people don't like the new doctor? Will they even watch the upcoming episodes? Don't think that can happen? Let me drag you back to the LAST season of Torchwood. I will say that I haven't recovered fully from the the regeneration from Tennant to Smith. Don't get me wrong I like Matt very well. I think he should have gone 4 to 5 seasons instead of 3. And I agree with him that he made a mistake. But it's too late now. So, whoever the next doctor is has some mighty big shoes to fill. Maybe, even more so than Matt had to fill. But, hopefully it will turn out all good.

Re: Dr. Who
It's official, Peter Capaldi is the Twelfth Doctor. I know nothing about this actor but didn't know about Matt either. Consensus on Facebook is he is the right choice. So of course I'll continoue to watch. So, hard to see Matt say good bye. And you could tell he was having trouble with it.
Re: Dr. Who
I'll give him a chance. But I got used to cute young doctors. Capaldi is a middle-aged guy...just doesn't seem like he'll be as much fun!
Though the Brits seem quite keen on him

I hate change and know nothing of Peter Capaldi so I can't say that I'm excited about the choice. But I recall that I did not want David Tennant to replace Chris Ecclestan, and I certainly didn't want Matt Smith replacing my by-now beloved David Tennant. Today I am weeping giant whale tears at Matt's decision to move on, but go ahead, bring Peter on, I grow to love them all eventually.

I have to say that I feel exactly the same as you do. I am just ditched over Matt. If you saw the live show where they announced the new doctor, Matt did a tapped congratulations to the new doctor. But what ripped me apart is while he was talking he would not look at the camera. He's a very "body language" actor and his body language was just screaming "hold it together you can get thru this." That made me cry.
I do think that Moffet is going to take Dr. Who back to it's roots. More like it was in the beginning. That's why he wanted an older actor. Peter is 55. I think he's good looking but yes, I'm going to miss my "baby faced" doctors.
Re: Dr. Who
There is a 3-hour Dr. Who special on tonight. It's called The Doctor Revisited.

Well, guess we won't be seeing Christopher Eccleston. Wonder what that's all about??

Re: Dr. Who
Well, from what I read, he only did one season of Dr. Who and didn't enjoy it. He and Moffett talked about it and Moffett said it wasn't a fuss or anything just not his think to come back.
Makes me sad.

Re: Dr. Who
Lucky you! The closest theatre that showing it is 90 miles from my house. So, I won't be seeing it on the big screen. And I can't find confirmation that it would be showing on my BBCA channel. BBCA says that Time-Warner doesn't have their channel. Uhm...yes, they do, I've been watching Doctor Who on it for years now. Is there something I don't know?

Re: Dr. Who
Hmmm....I'll have to alert Craig that it will be Doctor Who week all week. I was warning him that the Day of the Doctor would be showing on the 23rd but now....it's just not going to be his week for TV.
Nanowrimo will be suffering badly...or work....or both.....yeah this is the point I come to and say why aren't you retired?
