Re: Dr Who
Great imagery, hopelessly poetic...just kills me every time.
Still you have to love Oz and Wonka.

Re: Dr Who
I saw a woman in a bright blue dress with a funny little hat on at DragonCon. It took me a while to realize she was The Tardis!

Re: Dr Who
Well, has anyone seen the finale?
As far as they go, not the best but still brilliant I think. I really liked the arc of the season, and the darker Doctor.
anyway, waiting until some one else shows up so I don't spoil.

Re: Dr Who
I've seen it. Loved it. Thought it was tricksy and nothing was as I expected so I was pleased. Does leave me excited for next season.
Well, there's always the Christmas Special!

Re: Dr Who
I loved it! Yes, trickery of the best kind... Didn't have time to talk about last week's episode too much. I loved it too. But the best part....when the Dr sees the little girl run up to a woman and realizes that it's Amy. He watches, wanting go to her but he doesn't.. Instead he sees the little girl pointing and he turns and sees the huge perfume advertisement with Amy 's picture and the words....For the girl who's tired of waiting....GAH!!! And when he turns around...she's gone...
Sandisea...What you said about River Song being the product of Amy, Rory and the The TARDIS...makes sense...Thanks.
Can't wait for more.....

Re: Dr Who
This was delightful. Christmasy, not too much horror, and left me a bit teary-eyed at the end (in a good way) . Watched the recap of Dr. Who Specials afterwards and found that I have loved each and every one of the modern era Who's.

Re: Dr Who
I heartily agree with everything you both said and that ending.... Made me sniffle and I did not want it to end there I wanted to go in and sit down at the table and find out what had happened in the 10 years that had passed...
Yes, I'd always wanted a hammock as well.

Re: Dr Who
I had a hammock when I was in the 1st grade. It was actually my aunt's but she had it for when the nieces and nephews came to visit. If I rocked in it with my eyes closed I got nauseous. Also got car sick, ferris wheel sick, and probably sea sick if I had ever been to sea at that age. This is about the extent of my contribution to this thread. I know you are all glad.

Re: Dr Who
We had a hammock in the back yard years ago. I think we had our first Molly then. She was a huge dog but if I laid in the hammock she found a way to get in it with me and we rocked and I laughed she was a funny dog.
Re: Dr Who
And she probably never got sick in the hammock, which you would have remembered I'm sure....

Re: Dr Who
Dramamine for a hammock...sorry Banjo, it just sounds funny. sorry sorry sorry. You really should be watching Doctor Who with the rest of us though.
I hope your motion sickness was just a phase. Never had it...haven't tried out the open seas but if river rafting didn't get me I'm probably pretty set.

Re: Dr Who
The motion sickness was a phase, sort of, that lasted for ~15 years. I get BBC on a non-HD channel, oh the horror, way down the menu where I rarely venture , except for the Military Channel which is only 3 chans. away from BBC, so I'll keep an eye out for Dr. Who.

Re: Dr Who
Moffett has promised at least 14 episodes of Dr Who in 2012. Now I'm not sure when they start but I think I read August....That will just not do....on the other hand if it is August I'll sweating in the 115 degree Texas heat and having a Tardis show up just could take the edge off....of me.
Re: Dr Who
Hmmm.....I may have to start watching again....

Earlier today, BBC America announced that Jenna-Louise Coleman is being cast as the new companion to Matt Smith‘s title character in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Coleman is replacing Karen Gillan,
who will be departing the show in the upcoming season “in a
heartbreaking departure after one final series of rollercoaster
voyages,” according to a BBCA press release.
Coleman previously starred in the British series “Waterloo Road” and “Emmerdale” and was on the big screen in “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
In the press release, she said, “I’m beyond excited, I can’t wait to
get cracking; working alongside Matt I know is going to be enormous fun
and a huge adventure.”
“It’s not often the Doctor meets someone who can talk even faster than he does, but it’s about to happen,” executive producer Steven Moffat
says in the release “Jenna is going to lead him his merriest dance yet.
And that’s all you’re getting for now. Who she’s playing, how the
Doctor meets her, and even where he finds her, are all part of one of
the biggest mysteries the Time Lord ever encounters. Even by the
Doctor’s standards, this isn’t your usual boy meets girl.”
This is the 50th anniversary of the original season (or series, in
Brit terms) of “Doctor Who” is coming in 2013, and the seventh season of
this current incarnation will be leading up to that celebration, with
what the network promises is “14 big, blockbuster-movie episodes – each a
brand new epic adventure featuring new monsters and some familiar foes
as you’ve never seen them before.”
