Re: Dr Who
Oh, I was hoping it was going to be Ben Browder. A few days ago it was confirmed that Ben will be appearing in the new Dr. Who series. I would be happier if the Dr. wasn't always falling for his companions. Isn't he supposed to be in love with River Song?

Hmmm...wonder if they are going to just drop that story line in favor of a new adventure. It's highly likely... Here's the first trailer for the series. I'm quite sure I'll go insane before the season starts. I'm going crazy already and need a fix...BAD...

'Doctor Who' origin movie commissioned for 50th anniversary

"Doctor Who" turns 50 years old next year, and to celebrate, BBC Two has commissioned a 90-minute film that will explore the origins of the series, the BBC said Thursday.
"An Adventure in Space and Time" will "tell the story of the genesis of 'Doctor Who,'" the BBC said. "Exploring all aspects of the longest-running science fiction series to date, the special one-off 90-minute drama will also look at the many personalities involved in bringing the series to life."
"Doctor Who" was first broadcast in November 1963, and has gone through several iterations, with numerous actors playing the Doctor. (Matt Smith, the 11th actor to tackle the role, is the latest.)
"Doctor Who" writer/actor Mark Gatiss penned the 90-minute special, with "Doctor Who" showrunner Steven Moffat and executive producer Caroline Skinner executive producing.
"This is the story of how an unlikely set of brilliant people created a true television original," Gatiss said. "And how an actor -- [original Doctor] William Hartnell -- stereotyped in hard-man roles became a hero to millions of children. I've wanted to tell this story for more years than I can remember! To make it happen for Doctor Who's 50th birthday is quite simply a dream come true."
Casting for the movie will be announced next year, along with production and broadcast schedules.

Sandisea gets the credit for this. She posted it on Facebook but I know some of you don't go there so I wanted to bring it here. :)

I think they used the wrong term in the article. It looks like more of a preseason online peek for those who can't wait for premier night.
I like Rory....he's the guy who waited and waited and waited.

Re: Dr Who
You should see this before the episode tonight.
This is Pond Life, all 5 snippets put together.
The first two are typical Doctor calling on the Ponds....
The third, I can't say anything it would give it away, except just thinking about it makes me fall on the floor laughing. The fourth is cute...
And the Fifth........
"We need you Raggedy Man.....I.....need..you."
Funny she would say that now...I've been saying it for months.

Re: Dr Who
No, you're not a pill at all. No one liked Martha...oh wait, I think Greg did. *sigh*
I think we view the companions as the Doctor does and after such an intense relationship with Rose, Martha didn't have a chance with any of us. I liked her later on when she was with unit/torchwood...well liked-ish or comparatively. She was just too bound to her time, and her future on Earth. Rose, Donna and Amy were 100% into the adventure.
Enough about Martha, I'm getting a headache.
New Episode. Hmm. I almost hit myself in the head for not seeing the tell.
I think watching a few of the marathon shows was a bad idea for me. I love last years Christmas story with the fish and the singing woman in the ice box...that song just kills me! So, that was fresh in my mind. Really loved the Science of Doctor Who -especially while all of the Mars Madness going around ( I'm in the middle of a Neil Degrasse Tyson mini obsession right now ) Uhh....and liked Pond Life. Expectations were high...and the show was average...well, for now. Pond Life was pretty necessary as a set up, it made the episode more complete. The seasons are so short that I'm cranky when it's not out of the park awesome. But the next few episodes with help.
And! This is big problem for me....I'm irked that we all know the fate of Amy before it happens! *throws stuff at writers and press people and the darned internet*
I blame Martha.
Neil Degrasse Tyson goodness. -> [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Dr Who
I really enjoyed the episode and I liked Pond Life which was a good set up.
Yeah, I missed the tell until about 5 minutes before they revealed it and I was like ahhh...
Yes, my expectations were high and I might have to reserve judgment until I see more episodes. It's all supposed to build to the point our hearts are broken...yes, I hate that we know what happens...that's "SPOILERS!" So we will see how this weeks episode goes....
I just have to say..."Ood on the lou" just about made me pass out from laughing...
And FYI, I didn't like Martha as a companion but did like her after she did her own thing. And...I absolutely hated Donna at the beginning...but grew to love her more toward the end and cried like a baby at the end of her story. Loved her Dad. Reminded me of my Dad.

Re: Dr Who
Oh, Donna's Dad was fab! And because I am the Queen of Spoilers I will say that I am quite looking forward to next week's eppie...and that's all I will say about that.

This wasn't the episode that my "spoiler" was about....but what a fun eppie this was! Some things you just never expect to see on a spaceship.
I liked the little talk the Dr. had with Amy...aw, she is special to him.
Not as special as Rory apparently.

Wow, I really like Dr. Who in a stetson. Add to that Ben Browder (who I haven't seen since my giant crush on him in "Farscape" and I was in fan heaven. Interesting to see why the Dr. should never spend too much time alone. Companions are good for him!

Soooo.........we're up to the season finale this Saturday.....
'The Angel's Take Manhattan' I know this will be a great episode..but the fact that it's the last for this year...makes me feel cheated.

The way they say it is the "Fall finale" makes me wonder if we will get another season sooner rather than later. It has to be a very big hit for them.

Re: Dr Who
So, I ran off and got myself a little "spoiled" on next week's episode. I'm not saying a word. But I'd have a full box of kleenex...just saying...
Then we will have the Christmas special and then the new season sometime next year.
