The Magicians season 3

Make sure you start at S1, ep 1.  The first two seasons were more 'straight forward', before they got all these different story lines.

I remember how I got 'hooked', never having read the books or knowing anything about any of the actors...In one scene in ep1 where the Magicians were gathered together on their first day at Brakebills Univ. and they were asked to demonstrate some of their magical abilities....Alice (played by Olivia Taylor Dudley whom I had never heard of..but wow !)  shyly took a little piece of glass, 'manipulated' it, it changed into a little glass horse that galloped across her desk, she scooped it up, not wanting to demo too much. She came from a long line of magicians and knew what she was capable of, unlike some of the other students who had just been recruited.

The last paragraph veers into the leftist propaganda that we expect from Salon, but otherwise this is a pretty good synopsis.

I guess this is the 'musical' episode, tomorrow.  I think I can take it....

So the musical episode wasn't entirely musical as we had been lead to believe, just enough but not too much.

I assume they are talking about Jade Tailor's  'cabaret' performance. She certainly could be a professional singer, I think I read somewhere that she had pro voice training.

This season has been rather 'disjointed', for lack of a better word, and I'm confused as to how it is advancing the overall story line...?

Not too many shows pull off this sort of thing !

That was a rather interesting cliff hanger finale. How will they all get their real personas back in S4 ? Writers already busy...
