Well, it's the usual May "sweep" episodes when one or more characters exit (as Snagglepuss would say) stage left!
I mean what are the chances that Booth (David Boreanaz) is going to die and leave the show solely in the hands fo Dr. Brennan (Emily Deschanel)? Not ... but it does hang one in for next week's season-ending episode!

I noticed that the Benson character (Ethan Phillips) had some decent face time.

I agree that Booth won't die...but I have heard enough to make me believe that something important will happen to a regular character next week. (I've heard that the show might be in the process of casting a new character whose talents are very similar someone already on the show.)

Great episode! At least, they left a little "wiggle" room for Zack to get out of the psychiatric facility and lend a hand on future cases. Kind of like Eddy Murphy's 48 Hours ... pirat

Reminds me more of a R.P.McMurphy situation. (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest)...where someone found out that the difference between being sent to jail or being sent to a psychiatric facility (especially on a charge of being "criminally insane" ) is that sooner or later you get out of jail.


Frankly, I don't think we'll be seeing good old Zack again...and evrybody owes Sweets an apology. :D

Frankly, I don't think we'll be seeing good old Zack again.

Per Hart Hanson in an interview today at TV Guide.com that isn't necessarily true. Here is what he had to say on the subject:

Eric was a consummate pro about it, and he hated
keeping it a secret. He was really worried that his fans would turn
against him. But we have not seen the last of him. He won't be in every
episode, but Zack has certain talents we can use in a "Hannibal Lecter"
kind of way. We can go visit him and he can look at stuff. If my voice
sounds light right now, it's because the decision was not made lightly.
But we've got to do what we've got to do.

After viewing the first three episodes, seems that Eric's character Zack has not been replaced yet.
Possibility exists that the producers will reinstate him.
